When I have to store mine outside for a few days, I run a rope from the front lift ring, over the windshield and tie it off at the rear lift ring. It greates that ridge for water to run off and is much easier to deal with and store than PVC pipe.

RE: How long can boat sit?

Doesn't someone make a submersible/floating lift that would look like a pontoon boat that you would sink to get on and off and then pump the water out of the pontoons to float the boat above the water? Seems like a marina wouldn't have a problem with that?
