Does anyone know if you can still buy Perfect Pass (Stargazer or Digital Pro) for a 2007 model Nautique? I contacted PP on two separate occasions, once they told me I could get either model but recently they told me I could only get Zero Off. I wonder if one of the sale persons didn't know what they were talking about or the agreement has changed with PP and ZO?

RE: Cruise Controls on 2007 Models
You can get PerfectPass with 100% probability.
You MIGHT be able to get Zero Off, depending on which ECU is in your boat.
I ran both ZO and PP at the same time in my 2007.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Thanks for the info. How long ago did you buy the PP and ZO for your 2007? Which do you like best? I wonder if anything has changed in their agreement lately.

Engine control unit - a.k.a. ECM
I was under the impression that the only year issue with ZO and the ECM was the early 2006 models - after that all PCM DBW are good for ZO.2006 SANTE 210 (Pending Sale)

Sorry - it is located on the motor - top side under the plastic decoration shield - has two large plugs going to it with many wires. Maybe 4-5 inches by 5-6 inches.2006 SANTE 210 (Pending Sale)

Yes, I'm pretty sure I can get a Zero Off on my 2007 and was mostly interested in if I could get a Perfect Pass. Primarily because it's cheaper and as far as I know just as good.

Being a servicing dealer here in Central Florida, I will tell you the PP repair / ZO repair ratio is roughly 20:1. There just isn't much that goes wrong with the ZO. The main complaints on the PP are that is stops working (paddle wheel damage) or it takes off coming out of a turn. Have not heard of either of these problems with the ZO.

I plan to use the cruise for slalom primarily so the paddlewheel and speeding up in turns issues shouldn't be a problem. Also I have a PP in my old boat and it has been very reliable.

East Texas Skiier,
I see that you have a Stargazer, how long have you had it and have you been happy with it? Also still haven't found out if PP is available on 2007 Nautiques, anyone have one on an '07?

I am by no means a hard core course skier. For me, the system works well and is much easier to work with than the non gps system that preceded it. The issue most of the better skier have had is a bit higher gate speed than ZO and, prior to the warranty upgrade that had settings for gate, 1, and 3 ball, an accelleration during the second segment to achieve the right overall course time.
Up until now, my system has been one of the early 7.04x systems that had the adjusted settings, but still took info from the paddle wheel. From talking to Randy at PP, they feel that the current pure GPS system is now superior.
I have not tested the latest update, but look forward to doing so soon.
In short though, I really like the system and, as much, the excellent support from Perfect Pass.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

I upgraded to SG last fall. It seems to be a great system. I use it for surfing and open water skiing. It has worked great for both.
My dealer told me he wished CC would go back to PP just for the service issues. He has always had great service from PP and has had problems getting service from ZO. I have an 2007 boat and I would go PP again just on the recommendation of my serves dealer.
