Looks like Sanger is the only mainstream family owned boat company.

Something about this Meloon/MC dealership doesn't sound very Christian to me... So much for parting the waters...

I think you are way off of the mark here. This is a great opportunity for MC and for CC. If you believe that CC is a superior product, then the consumer will now see them side by side and be able to drive/ski them with little time in between. If construction methods are very different, you will see that in the showroom. You don't have to go from memory after driving to another dealer. CC is not making MCs and MC is not making CC. Perhaps this will put a "CC guy" in a MC or maybe a "MC guy" into a CC.
      Get over yourselves.

Yeah, I think it's a little crazy at first look, but I'm sure it's emotional. I can't imagine how you start CC and then go do this. You would have to be pissed off with CC giving away your dealership to do something like this, I think. It's just hard to think that all those great quotes about great boats were just marketing hype the whole time, just like what they're saying now. It's all lip-service to me at this point. CC makes a great boat, but I don't know that I'd buy anything newer. I love my old 2001 though, and I still think it's the best boat for the money out there right now.

            Maxpower220,

I don't think you understand what is going on. Neither dealer will have both MC or CC at them. Now that SECC is selling MC they will not be selling CC, so you will have to go by memory and drive to another dealship to look at both.

Maxpower, are you under the impression that this dealership is going to be CC & MC? That is what I gathered based on your email...

"If you believe that CC is a superior product, then the consumer will now see them side by side and be able to drive/ski them with little time in between"

I personally do not believe this is going to be the case.

I think that most consumers don't have a clue about any of this and will care less who owns their dealer. They will still buy the boat based on the quality of the construction, features, and price.

It's kind of a BS move on the Meloons' part, but I don't think it will noticeably affect sales.

I think that the reigns are now off from Walt and the new Orlando dealer has freedom to make things happen I would not want to be selling MC!! Corporate is probably behind the new dealer 100%
