    211 windshield vent... WHY?

OK here is my next problem with the 211. What dumbass decided to put a vent under the port windshield that leads right to all the stereo equipment, including the head unit. I wash my boat after every use, and I may as well be hosing off my electronics directly. I plan on covering this up from the inside with a piece of plastic, then reinstalling the stainless vent piece. Anybody have a better solution? I know the amps need cool air, but they definetly do not need cool water as well. I'm sure I'm not the first one to have this problem. Ideas PLEASE!

There is a plastic hood over my stereo. Are you in salt? I don't really find the need to hose my boat down. Spray with babes boat bright or slick mist and wipe it down, looks like new again.

Yes, I am in salt, Bel Marin Keys. The boat gets thoroughly washed inside and out after each use. I'll have to ask about the plastic hood, though.

Plastic hood doesn't help in salt, besides, you probably already have it installed, take a closer look at your head unit and you may notice it there. I too am looking to modify the vent, I was thinking about getting some clear plexiglass and cutting it to fit underneath the stainless vent. If I get around to it, I'll post some pics.
