2006 SANTE Insured for $65k with a $1000 deduct (minimum deduct according to skisafe in Florida) insurance is $950 - insurance includes trailer and in FL skisafe only calculates year round usage - no down time. Insurance was $650 a year in 2006 and went to $950 in 2007 - skisafe informed that the increase was due to many claims they were paying out - I have never made a claim for the boat thankfully

I was just going to post this topic yesterday as I am kind of battling State Farm a bit. My 99SAN is $845 per year, $1000 deductible, replacement cost, valued at $45000 w/ 300k liablilty. The reason I got interested in looking around is that I recently picked up a 68 CC Mustang, and they want $360 for that (actually quoted $480, at first) for $8000 in value and same coverage. I then went to skisafe and they quoted me $417 for my SAN, and $224 for the Mustang, but liablilty only on the Mustang. I went back to SF and asked about the delta. They are not willing to budge a nickel. Due to the fact that I have a large PLUP with them, they will also make it a hassle to maintain that as they want all the rating info from skisafe, and documents to prove coverage annually, etc. I keep everything with them for convenience, but, seemingly it costs me a fortune.
Insurance companies drive me insane. I pay nearly $15k per year for various types of insurance with State Farm, and feel like I am getting rammed for my loyalty to them.... I have made one boat claim in 1996 for $3500, and one auto claim for $12000 in 2000.the WakeSlayer

WakeSlayer, I hear you. I was with SF during my youth due to parents. When I branched out on my own and I bought a motorcycle, they weren't very competitive. I'm now with Nationwide for everything else, but SkiSafe was too good to pass up with the boat. When I traded, I about doubled the value but actually went down in insurance.

I have a 2000 super sport with the 502 Python (430hp). I have it insured for 36K PLUS trailer. My insurance runs me $330/year with a $500 deductible, PLEASE NOTE, insurance rates for boats factor in AGE, LOCATION, DRIVING RECORD, HORSEPOWER and where the boat is run (inland or offshore). From the sounds of things I'm getting a great deal.2000 SuperSport 502 Python

Just priced State Farm for a 2007 210, includes trailer, $1k deductable, policy has a $50k cap and $2000 coverage on contents. $617 annual. Seemed high since we live in Pa. and have at least 5 months down time.2007 210 TE - Maiden voyage 4/25/2008!

05 Sante insured for 65k,1k deductible, Nov1-Apr.1 layup period=$505.00 Ski Safe.
Just got quoted the same price from Boat US.I will be dropping the coverage to 55k now that the boat is a little older. One thing on new boats...ski safe told me they pay 110% of the purchase price if it's a total loss within the first year of ownership. That was 2 years ago, they may have a different policy on that now.I have everything else I own thru State Farm and they couldn't come close. Gotta give S.F. props though,I totalled my snowmobile a few years back, called them 3 weeks after the accident, with no police report, and wrote the estimate myself, had a check for the full value of sled+ sales tax credit within 3 days,no questions asked.Premiuim never went up either....great service!

236 euro all included for a whole year... Not in Belgium tho... In Holland, much cheaper.
All included means: damages, theft, all passengers, trailer ... Well like omnium on cars. The proof of INTELLIGENT life on other planets lies in the fact that NONE of them have bothered to contact us...
Gun control means: using BOTH hands!

With the purchase of our new boat, we did some shopping on insurance just last week. We were blown away.
We've had State Farm for our coverage since 2003 (boat & trailer only). On our 99 Sport, we were paying around $420 per year.
However, we have switched to Progressive (thru our current car insurer Electric Insurance). With the newer boat & trailer (insured at $56K), and a bit larger coverage for liability than with SF....we are at $240 per year. This policy has a $1000 deduct for collision (same as SF) and a $2500 deductable for comprehensive (same as SF).
The guy we dealt with at Electric Ins, said that Progressive is one of the best around for very competitive and very good insurance coverage and support. So, I am glad for the reduction....and hoping that I never use them. If you know what I mean.
By the way.....my wife and I are right at 40 yrs of age...and live in central Indiana.88 Ski Nautique

Great topic!! After having all our Nautiques and autos insured with State Farm, it looks like SkiSafe has unbeatable rates. I like how SkiSafe allows you to configure your coverage and compare the rates online. I have my business insured with Erie Ins., they were not any better priced than State Farm. It may be the 6 months down time that SkiSafe factors in for living in Pa. Before I make the move to SkiSafe, has anyone had any problems with them? Thanks2007 210 TE - Maiden voyage 4/25/2008!
