Jeff, I'm down perhaps a similar rabbit hole of determining what to do with the existing XMD1 and the same remote you show.
Leaning toward a Fusion MS-ARX70B which runs off a single battery and just sticks on. I'd build a HDPE backer plate in place of the existing remote, and put in a fusion deck in the glove box. Nice part is, you can (I think) pair 2+ remotes and stick one on the transom if you wish. I'd get clarion stuff, but for the cost I can get better equipment I think.Comment
