WTB: 1997 Sport Nautique w/ Blue or Teal

    Hi

I'm looking for a 97 Sport Nautique with trailer preferably anywhere in US in any condition, preferably fresh water use.
I like the oem factory look on the 97-99 Sport but need the hull of the 97, so I guess 97 is the only year I could get unless it would
be possible to change the stripes and decals on 95 or 96 to look like a 97? Assuming that would require gelcoat work and get expensive.
If it has a flight control tower that's a plus.

Looking for blue or teal bottom strip like these two below in link but flexible. Preferably no green, maroon or tan.
Grey black would also be pretty sweet. These boats seem prevalent in FL and TX.

I have a '94 (same hull as '97, and similar stripe) that I may be putting up for sale. It is also in the colors you are looking for. 665 hours on the carb'd 5.8 pro boss HO. Converted from pro Tec ignition to electronic distributor at 540 hours. Flight control tower and new (2015) Phoenix single axle trailer. Located in N Wisconsin. I will know more on wednesday. Are you still looking for something?

Pretty much set on the 97. I love the 97-99 graphics those were the boats that were brand new in my day that we dreamed of in the 90's. This one here is pretty much amazing. The 2001's were also pretty epic back then. The 97 is the only one I can get because of the hull. I need the larger sought after wake. These graphics on these new boats just don't do it for me. Wish they would put a throwback in the lineup or something.

Not sure I completely follow what you are looking for. You say you like the "oem factory look on the 97-99 Sport" but the '98 up are a different look with the trunk and no slant back, the '93-'97 are the slant back with no trunk. Also, they are all the same hull shape so wake you are looking for should be the same from '93 to early 2000's, at least that's my understanding. Or are you just talking about graphics?

Still looking considering 93 or 97 preferably. Seems like a rare find these days. Kylem 03 nice boat love the color, did you end up selling last year, what did you get for it?

What I mean is I like the graphics on the 97-99 but I need the 97 to throw the biggest wake. I also hear the GT40 is pretty good on fuel. I would also consider a 2001 but they seem to be fetching more money then they are worth and usually need a full restoration, no stringer worries on the 97 Sport, more modern reliable engine. I was 16 years old in 97, I remember watching the pros ride off these back in the days and I had a chance to ride behind a pro air back in the late 90's w/ the gen 1 tower, fun times. Some kinda nostalgia remains from those memories.

I see '93 to '97 Sports pop up from time to time on CL, though maybe fewer '97's now that I think of it. Yes, GT-40 is a really nice engine setup. But, don't rule out a carbed 351, from a holeshot standpoint and general skiing/boarding there is virtually no performance difference, where you may see the difference is top end speed if you were a footer.
