    looking for a needle in a haystack 2005 SV211

I am currently looking for a 2005 (maybe 04-06) SV 211, looking to spend about 33-35K. I have seen a few on onlyinboards(dot)com, but figured there maybe someone here knows someone who has one or maybe even knows the ones listed on there (condition/abuse/flood/salvaged). I have been doing a lot of research at the trim levels and packages and know the Excalibur motor would be fine, I would prefer ballast, but know the pumps and valves from those years blows.. but it saves a bit on plumbing and wiring..... oh and I prefer tandem trailers... single axel on longer distance drives worries me. Does this list sound too picky? lol

I am not horribly opposed to a 210, just from my experience the wake is a little too vertical (too many friends busted knees...) and the interior just slightly more cramped. A 226 of the same era (04-06) probably wouldn't fit into a standard garage, I imagine.

I am in Charleston, SC, but willing to travel a bit to get one, if it is in good condition.

Over the last 10 or so years I've owned a 2001 Malibu Sunsetter LXI (direct drive), and a 2005 Mastercraft X-2, but had several friends that have 211's and seem to be a cut above in quality and craftsmanship.

looking forward to moving up to a Nautique and thanks in advance!

Check with Buxton Marine in Lewisville (Dallas).
There is a 2005 211 on there for 34900 but since I am new not sure of the SV.
Buxton is a great dealer to work with.

All 211's are SV211. Not sure why this particular model has a letter designation, unless they were attempting to spell out the cross-over intention of the boat (what does SV stand for??)

Any particular reason you're limiting yourself to pre-2006 besides cost?

Well..... 2004 had the pre-polk speakers.... so no real reason there... and yes 2007-2008 I figured that it would certainly be above how much I was looking to spend unless the boat had been ridden hard and put away wet so to say. I have found a few 2006s at the 36-38K mark and with this being September and usage dropping off dramatically.... I have though of offering 35K figuring Oct-April boat payments (8*$300-$350, $2400-2800) and insurance, registration fees someone would have to pay for no use whatsoever. I know as difficult as it is to take, this is still a "part time" hobby, although winter trips to Florida are not out of the question.

White Lake Marine has one on consignment. I saw it about a month ago. Needs some TLC but overall, not bad. WLM is great to work with. Oh, and the 226 in a standard garage? Not happening. On trailer with swim platform, at least 28 feet.

Good Luck. I love my 211, great all around boat. Also 2nd the comment about White Lake.

Might want to quantify "standard garage". 211 needs 22'-26', depending on if you want to remove the 96lb platform and fold the tongue every time. And mine squeezes through an 7' door with the jack at the bottom (off the truck) and fits widthwise through my 8' door with 6" on each side (no racks).

Thanks for the links! I found this one, happens to be a 2007 http://www.chessiemarine.com/new_veh...60&pov=3583349 It is the "newest" one I have found. It was used in brackish water, so I am hoping that it was cared for and it should be good to go. The pictures that are posted seem like the boat is in really good condition.

As for the garage, it is a 2-car garage with the one very wide door. I got my MC X-2 in the garage in all the other houses Ive lived in, they just sit there crooked, but thats fine.

I have one available, it's a little more than you were willing to spend but it has the better engine in it. In very good condition. Definitely would not be disappointed with it. Maybe too far of a drive for you though but I would be willing to meet you in Kentucky if that helps. I do have more pics that I could text you also.

Buxton treated me like a King and I was only visiting. They know what it means to be personable. I like stopping in there just to look at their huge inventory.
