Should do fine. I have't tested this one at altitude, but shouldn't be affected any more than any other engine.

how does that carbed 5.8 do at altitude? I have had a GT40 in a sport at altitude and it seemed to do good

started a topic SOLD - 1998 Ski Nautique

    1998 Ski Nautique

Now available for sale is this beautiful 1998 Ski Nautique. This boat is finished in black and zephyr with gold metal flake pinstripes and accents. This boat has the 5.8L HO carbureted engine that produces 290 horsepower with a 1.23:1 transmission. The engine has 573 hours on the clock. The propeller is an Acme 422. It also has the factory-option extended pylon and the factory-option depth finder. This was my personal boat for 2023 and 2024, and over the last few months it has had a number of improvements completed to bring it to its current condition. Here are a few.

*Gelcoat freshly wet sanded, polished and buffed
    *New pinstripes
*New graphics -- all of them
    *Windshield frame freshly powder coated
    *Speedometers refurbished
    *New throttle knob
    *New steering cable
    *Freshly-rebuilt carburetor
    *New distributor
    *New spark plugs
    *New spark plug wires
    *New fuel pump
    *New fuel lines
    *New fuel/water separator filter
    *Freshly-refinished swim platform

Everything works as-designed, and the engine runs very nicely.

While this is a very nice vessel, it has not undergone a full restoration, and it does have some imperfections. I try to list as many imperfections as possible when selling a boat so that there are no surprises. Here are a few of the imperfections:

*The center windshield support bar is missing.
*The carpet is not new, and is showing signs of wear.
*The vinyl, while very nice, is showing some signs of wear, especially on the black panel on the driver's seat. The engine box has a couple of small tears as well.
*This boat had a tower installed at some point, and the patch job on the holes, while not bad, is not perfect. If you look closely, you can see where the tower was mounted. You have to look for it though, otherwise you probably wouldn't notice it.
*The center rear seat cushion is missing.
*There is a small scratch in the Zephyr gelcoat near the tip of the bow.
*There are speakers installed, but there is no stereo head unit.

This boat can come with a trailer, or if you do not need a trailer, the price can be discounted.

The available trailer is a 2002 Ram-Lin single-axle (this is the one in the pictures). This trailer was just refinished by Ram-Lin, and received new paint, new bunks and steps, new carpet, new LED lights, new brakes, new bearings and seals, new coupler, etc. It is basically a brand new trailer. This trailer came from a non-title state, so the trailer will be sold with a bill of sale only.

The boat has a clean and clear North Carolina title.

    Price for this boat:
    $16,900 with the freshly-refurbished 2002 Ram-Lin trailer
    $15,900 with no trailer
