Hey Guys I agree with you both, you have some valid points. The market is flooded with alot of 2001's and with gas prices the way they are boats are not moving like they use to. I didn't know there were that many for sale till after I decided to sell mine. So the price is Neg. and I'm willing to hear offers, but it's only costing me $19 a year to have it so I'm willing to wait on the right one to come along, well see. There is a guy coming to drive it this weekend so hopefully we can work a deal....

TRBenj. I agree that the 90's plus has a much better slolam wake and you can get one of those for a deal, but the 2001's have a better wakeboard wake so I didn't know which way to try to market it. But you do have a point.

Skubz. I agree that adding a tower will be a extra grand. I agree that you can add 5k to it and get a SS but 5k could make or break someone from getting a boat..This boat is all ariginal and I would hate to see someone hack it up with a tower. In my opinion the 89 and older boats shouldn't have tower, they are to narrow and it messes the wakes up when you cut out. I don't like to see them with plumbed in ballest systems. There is a real easy way to load these boats and still have room for 6 or so people, there stuff and a cooler, with out having all those sacks and boxes to step over. In my opinion if you need one with plumbed ballast and a tower do step on up and get a SS so you can hide all that stuff. Thanks for the opinions.

TRBenj and G, wakeboarding is the reason these boats have seen a resurgence in their value. So loading these boats up, is what it's all about. If you are in to salolm skiing, why would you go with this boat, given it's age and price. Definitely much better buys out there.

Dude, I agree that the 2001's value held due to wakeboarding, and thats all I have done with it. I don't like them with towers, and ballast systems, which is my opinion. I wanted a tower and ballast thats why i bought a 210, and I agree they don't make good slolam boats. my boat may be high priced I don't know, I'll have to see what comes down the pipe, I don't need the money or have to sell it....but if you joined Planetnautique just to crash on my post you need a new hobbie since you only have 2 post. If you need to give me constructive opinions I appriciate it, if your not interested just read it and roll on. This site is a good place for info. and general talk, not a place to bash on people's stuff. I've been around Nautiques my whole life so I know what i'm looking at and doing.

I may be in the minority, but I disagree. I shake my head in disappointment every time I see a nice 2001 butchered up with a tower and ballast. Id love to own a clean '88 like this one, regardless of whether there are better slalom wakes for the money. I ski behind a 2001 all the time and have zero complaints.

G, good luck with the sale- its a beautiful boat. Love the colors too- and check out how those platform brackets shine!

G, just because I only have 2 posts doesn't mean I haven't been around this site for the last 7 years. I very rarely post unless I feel motivated and I forgot my username/password. It's all good. I 'm not bashing your boat, just pointing out a possible reason it wasn't selling and then defending my position to the two of you.

Skubz.... It's all good. I appriciate your help. No harm no foul. I would like to see it move to someone that would enjoy it, and i have been wondering if the economy had anything to do with it or I'm asking to much. I have seen them around here in NC go for 10k to 13k all day long. My friend sold his 88 for 11.5k a month ago, and WLM sold a 86 for 8k that looked bad......I am willing to move around on the $$$ but i'm not going to give it away, if ya know what I mean.

              TRBenj..... thanks for the complements....

I'm thinking of reposting it...this one has got alittle big....
