I had the ZR4 in a GS20 and it suffered. Many posts on here about that.
My last boat was a 210 with the 343 (propped down), and it actually wasn't bad.
I am guessing the ZR4 in the 230 would be similar ??

If I let my hand off the wheel it will crank all the way to the right. Guy I bought from said that was normal. Seem off to me. Thoughts? Any idea on fixes? I uploaded short video. Thank you!

Hey, I have 86 SN 2001 - noticed the boat does not turn over when the accessories button is pressed, I am thinking this is not normal behavior. I am not good with a multimeter yet but, I have a feeling I am going to get good shortly. Where do i start? Set the voltmeter at 20v and check where first? any insight will be much appreciated.

Hi. I have a 1995 Ski Nautique, Body Glove. GT40 engine. 750 hours. Loud clunking noise paired with a pretty good vibration.
Had a manifold gasket replaced this winter and when I put it in the water there is a loud
clunking noise happening. Also appears to have some tiny metal shavings in the oil.
Before taking the engine out and oil pan off to look at rod bearings etc
was wondering if anyone has experienced this before. I'm assuming
there is no relationship to this and the manifold work I had done but I'm not
a mechanic so I have no idea. Attaching a link to a video of the clunking.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I’m looking for some more info on the 1986 silver nautique 2001s. I purchase mine about 13 years ago and it is stamped as number 83. From all my research I’m finding only 82 were made which has me wondering how I have number 83. Ive contacted nautique customer care but they do not have any records from that long ago and stated that they did not even keep records back then. But I have a hard time believing that nobody truely knows. My guess is that had a couple dealer special orders at the very end? My HIN number lines up with being manufactured mid to late 86 so it would make since it’s at the end of the number sequence. Any info would be great. Thank you!

Any help on diagnosing an issue here please? Attempted to take boat out yesterday for Memorial Day and it nothing works or almost? Boat is a 2010 230 with the ZR409. Ran great last weekend and everything worked as it should.

Turn battery switch on in rear, flip toggle to on, enter code on keypad and the little light comes on.. Hit start button and nothing. Same with blower, ballast and even horn buttons. Any button I press on keypad makes a inconsistent humming/buzzing noise under dash. Pulled the cover off and its the PME box making the noise. None of the breakers were tripped. Batteries have good voltage and voltage reads good at the terminals at PME box. Not sure where the ground from PME box goes to or where to check other end of it? Not sure if this is sign of a bad keypad or bad PME box but I don't think its a bad breaker per say.

got a 19 G25 with NISA and looking to understand how the exhaust by pass works, i dont see any kind of actuators like a captains call system so does it work on pressure differentials? i have a tapping noise I'm tracking down that sounds a lot like a exhaust flapper well in drive- wont do it in neutral or reverse. goes with eng speed in drive till i eventually cant hear it, its not drive line noise and its not bottom end noise - very familiar with those noises im thinking its prop wash forcing exhaust out the over flow port but would love to know how it works

I have a 2005 SV211. When running in the driveway, with a garden hose inline, I get a fair amount of water coming out around the shaft as well as through the exhaust flap. When I did the winterization last year, It seemed as though most of the anti-freeze came out through that shaft area and less through the exhaust flap. Is this normal, and is there a way to block off the flow there, so I can get more into the engine?

I had to leave my 206 moored for about 10 days in the local lake. I knew I would get some bottom growth but was surprised by how much accumulated in the short time. I also got a nice hull stain apparently from all the tannin currently in the water (so says AI). The bottom growth scrubbed off with a little elbow grease and the stain quickly came out with a little oxalic acid solution. I'm sure the white hull exacerbates the problem. :/ I also wonder if older hulls are more susceptible to water stains.

But now I'm curious as to what others do who keep their boat moored for longer periods. Are their tricks that I should know about?

I don't remember ever seeing a post where the Ballast Valve Cable connection has come off?
I was checking the V-drive level and just happened to spot that both supplemental cables where disconnected. One Ball joint was still on the cable, the other is somewhere where socks and missing parts go, never to be seen again. Our Nautique Dealer has them in stock, good thing, but couldn't find them anywhere on Nautique Parts or other. Both valves where in the off position. Makes me wonder how much water the Supps. are holding, TBA.
Not sure why we didn't pick up on this last Season, should have been obvious, I would think. The impellers look good, so it must of been right at end of Season.

Hey all,
I'm re-aligning the prop shaft on our 2000 SAN (5.7 Apex + Walter V-Drive). While I'm there, taking care of a number of other related/nearby odds and ends (new shaft/coupling, new strut bearings, new stuffing gland hose, new raw water hose, etc.). While taking things apart, I've been looking at the two aluminum cradle angles "supporting" the v-drive. One had no lags in it any longer, the other had two of the three, but loosely - no effective fastening to the bilge sidewall at all. Essentially, they're both just suspended there by the v-drive plate assemblies. Planning to re-fasten them after I align the prop shaft. Have been toying with how to best do that, since the existing 3/8" lags were either gone or ineffective.

Was planning to pot some studs (bolts, head-side in) into the cavities with epoxy, because the sidewalls appear to have only about 1/2" of material before foam. Today, I was drilling some injection holes above the original holes to aid in filling, and I discovered what appears to be a metal backing plate in there. Either AL or SS (swarf was long/bright and non magnetic). This has me rethinking approach a little.

Wondering, if instead of messing with potting these studs, I can get away with enlarging the holes in the AL cradle angles, and upsize the lags to 1/2" instead. Has anyone done this repair before? Does anyone know any of the specifics about that backing? I suspect that if the factory used a series of 3/8" lags originally, that replacing in-kind with upsized fasteners to gain some new purchase would probably suffice, but hoping for some collective wisdom from the board.
TIA!
