  • 1999 Super Air Nautique

For sale: 1999 Super Air Nautique with Apex (GM) 5.7 MPI 320 hp engine with approximately 1100 hours. Many options and upgrades, including 2007 OEM Flight Control Tower, three OEM Titan surf/wake combo racks with "Air Nautique" logo and one surfboard rack--all with Roswell swivels, Roswell tower-mounted mirror, true tower-mounted bimini top (no straps) with all stainless steel fittings, ACME 1578 power prop with ACME 644 spare prop, approximately 2800 pounds of automatic ballast utilizing 3 reversing Jabsco ballast pumps and four Fly High ballast bags, Alpine marine stereo, Wetsounds (WS-420SQ) equalizer, 3 amps (2 JL Audio and 1 Kicker), 4 Kicker 6.5" cabin speakers, 1 Kicker 10" subwoofer with marine enclosure, and 4 Wetsounds tower speakers (2 Icon 8s with white LED rings and 2 Pro 60s), Stargazer Perfect Pass, new steering wheel, chrome thru hulls, new depth finder/dual temp gauge, 3 batteries with Perko switch, on-board dual-bank battery charger, snap-on bow cover, custom OEM cover with "Nautique" printed across windshield, bow-filler step with SeaDek, built-in coolers, and more.

I have also replaced all of the carpet on the floor with custom faux-teak SeaDek. I worked directly with SeaDek to create the pattern from scratch and I understand this is the only legacy Super Air Nautique with this option.

All of the original plastic cupholders have been replaced with stainless cupholders. And I have added two more stainless cupholders to the deck and six new cupholders to the gunnels.

Boat sits on a tandem-axle trailer (included) with LED lights that has 5 new tires (June 2013) and newer brakes, winch, strap, roller, jack, and bunk carpet (2012).

I am second owner. Boat is mechanically sound and the engine runs strong and clean. And because it is a GM motor, it can be plugged into a laptop to confirm hours and use. I replaced the exhaust manifolds, risers, and gaskets, as well as the spark plugs, cap, rotor, and wires last year. Starter was replaced earlier this year (May). I also have all maintenance records dating back to about 2002.

The interior vinyl is in good condition for its age and use with a few pieces having been replaced and a few with minor blemishes. And as stated above, the interior carpet was replaced with SeaDek this year.

Exterior is also in good condition. There is a little bit of peeling on the large tribal hull decals--I assume from being submerged during surfing--and a few little scrapes here and there, but nothing that cannot be buffed out and I will have that done prior to sale/end of season.

The boat is not perfect, but it is in amazing condition for its age and runs great. You will definitely not find another one like it. I am only considering selling because I am thinking about buying a newer Nautique. I don't need to sell it and I will not consider any low-ball offers.

Boat is located in Phoenix, Arizona. More pictures available on request. Just PM me.

    $23,900 OBO

I love sano pad interior, I would like to upgrade carpet on my boat too. Is the tower from newer model? And how did you make it fit?
Good luck with sale, it does look like a nice boat!

Ya nice boat. That is also a nice looking wake. May I ask how much weight you have on and where it is located? And can you make the other side wake that nice and clean? Is the water past the rub rail? thanks

            A few more pics...

As for the questions above, I have a whole thread on adding the tower. And as stated in the ad, it is a Flight Control Gen 4 tower from a 2007 210.

For weight in the pic, I have starboard locker sac (750#), center locker sac (580#), and integrated bow sacs (about 400-500#) filled to capacity and a 400# sac on the starboard seat behind the driver seat and a 105# fat brick on starboard bow seat. My wife is also sitting in the back (about 105 pounds) but you can't see her in the picture. I can get the same wave on the other side if I put two 400# sacs on the port seats and another one up front on port side. Water does not go above the run rail.

There is more detail in my other threads on both issues.

And a few more pics...Sorry...I just keep coming across pictures that I like or provide more info. The last one is of the bow area under the seats depicting the area with all the carpet removed.

And a couple of things that I neglected to mention are that the backrest cushion at the tip of the bow started coming I stitched a little this year. Not a big deal but I will try to get a picture of it to post. And there are a few scratches on the fiberglass of the deck between the rear seat and engine hatch cover. There were some staples on the bottom of the rear seat backrest that were sticking out that I did not know about. I removed the backrest once and set it on the deck and they scratched it. Pretty minor, but like I said in the original ad, there are small blemishes in the boat here and there.

Bump for your sale thread, and another admirer of your boat!

? for you, did you gelcoat under the SeaDek? If yes, did you do the whole floor, or just where the seams meet? Also, what did you do up the sides of the gunwales?

Yes, great looking floor. Do you have a thread on that process? Interested to know more about it.

Thanks Miljack! It has been a lot of fun doing all of these modifications.

As for your questions...I did not use gel coat. As you know, the seat bases, gunwale shelves, storage-seat bottoms (and almost everything really) of these SANs are covered with carpet. I wanted to get rid of as much of it as possible. Since gel can not be applied to the plastic seat bases and other materials made from starboard, I did A LOT of research and ended up using a urethane coating on top of an epoxy primer base that could be applied to all surfaces. It is very high quality (and expensive) stuff and much more durable than gel coat.

I did a full write up on the entire process with lots of progress pictures here: http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/sh...ll-on-1999-SAN

But I removed all of the carpet on the floor from tip to stern, seat bases, gunwale shelves, undersides of helm and observer-seat areas, under the bow seating, engine dividers, etc. The only carpet that remains in the boat is that mounted to the walls from the helm and observer-storage area to the stern--basically from the windshield to the back. I left this to help dampen sound. But I may still remove it and replace it with something else if the boat does not sell.

Happy to answer any other questions about any of the modifications. There are also threads on this site about most of them.

I have also uploaded a picture of the ballast switches and the conversion of the engine-hatch cover from the slow hydraulic ram actuator to shocks with a latch--one of the better modifications in my opinion as it makes getting in-and-out of the back much quicker and easier than before. As you can see in newer pictures, all of the aluminum parts used for the modification (and the channels/tracks for the engine dividers) are now black.

I promised some pictures of the blemishes mentioned above and here they are. As set forth in the ad, there are other small blemishes here and there. For example, you can see a tiny hole in the top of the stern seat back. But these are the worst two.

Also, we had it out on Saturday, so I took an updated dash pic, hours pic, and hull pic.

Sorry to hear the sale didn't work out for you. If you are looking at selling again in a year or two I would be in the market for your boat, I really love everything you've done to it. I have an 89 nautique 2001 now and I live in Mesa AZ. Where do you ride if you don't mind me asking?
