Great Britain's Andy Mapple announced his retirement from water skiing Sunday evening at the conclusion of the Masters' annual awards banquet. Mapple, who finished third in Men's slalom at the 45th Chevrolet Masters on Sunday, said he will only ski two more events this year (Malibu Open and U.S. Open) to fulfill his contractual sponsor obligations. He received two standing ovations. Mapple, 42, has more than 160 professional slalom victories and remains a co-holder of the Men's world slalom record. The Chevrolet 45th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament will be held May 28-30, 2004. This televised tournament is the longest-running Water Skiing competition in the world. The Masters tournament began in 1958 at Callaway Gardens and has continued consecutively, with the exception of one year.

Several PlanetNautique members are planning to meet at the Correct Craft tent on Saturday at 11:00 AM for a meet and greet. If you'll be at the Masters, please stop by and say hello.

The Robin Lake site at Callaway Gardens has a course-centered covered pavilion with judges tower and media area, offering covered seating. The tournament can be seen clearly from the beach and picnic area; as well as a giant-screen TV for up-close live-action viewing on the beach. The Callaway Gardens grounds are garden-like and immaculately maintained.

An invitation to compete at the Masters is universally considered an honor and an acknowledgement of achievement for reaching the pinnacle in a given Water Skiing discipline—only the world's most elite athletes ski the Masters! This tournament is IWSF/AWSA and WWA sanctioned. The perpetual trophies for these tournaments reside in the Water Ski Hall of Fame. Prize monies, trophies, rings and special event awards total well over $160,000.

The Rolex Junior Masters Tournament offers the same elite and exclusive competition to the world's finest junior Water Skiing and Wakeboarding athletes. In lieu of prize monies, junior competitors receive trophies and scholarship monies.

Callaway's Robin Lake nestles in a most unique and beautiful atmosphere conducive to fan loyalty. Fans start calling for next year's tickets and reservations in the middle of the summer prior to this extravaganza. This event attracts thousands of spectators annually and enjoys media coverage in the local and metropolitan Atlanta areas prior to and during the tournament, followed by worldwide print coverage for several months.

The Masters has often provided other disciplines in exhibition (i.e., barefooting and wakeboarding and ski flying before they became Masters events). The Masters has been instrumental in introducing the watersports industry to new and exciting watersports disciplines such as wakeboarding and ski-flying; lending early credibility and support to them.

The Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament, always held over Memorial Day weekend, includes many athletes/sponsors amenities; i.e., a free golf tournament, an Awards Banquet on Sunday evening, warm-up jackets for all participating athletes and more—and a commitment to uphold its prestigious traditions.

ORLANDO, FL (2/16/04) – Correct Craft announced the appointment of Jeffrey Warner as Vice President of Sales and Customer Service with Gary Meloon moving into the position of Vice President of Marketing and Special Events. These appointments come following the recent news that Larry Meddock, Vice President of Marketing and Special Events, will be retiring on March 5, 2004.

Jeffrey Warner will merge his current department, Dealer Development and Customer Service with the National Sales Department. “This is a natural progression for these departments”, said Warner “I am excited about the new responsibilities and the unlimited potential this combination allows for the development of our dealers and of course, the ultimate goal, customer satisfaction.”

Warner came to corporate headquarters in 1983 after a number of years of service at New England Correct Craft in Rochester, New Hampshire. His experience in the retail arena prepared him for his service in several corporate departments, especially the Customer Service department, where he has served since 1991. Warner has an extensive knowledge of Correct Craft’s product and production process. He has personally taken over 20,000 people on tours of Correct Craft’s production facility.

Gary Meloon is an Orlando native who began his career at Southeast Correct Craft in 1971 where he was involved in all aspects of the business from service to retail sales. Meloon joined corporate headquarters in 1983 and has worked throughout the organization in many capacities including night shift supervisor, purchasing manager and the marketing department where he served as Marketing Director before being named National Sales Manager in 2001.

When asked about his new department, Meloon had this to say, “ I am thrilled to be returning to Marketing. This is a terrific opportunity to take what I have learned over the years from working closely with production and our dealers as we develop an even more comprehensive marketing plan to maintain and promote the Nautique brand.”

According to Etta Warner, Correct Craft’s Chairman of the Board, “This is an exciting time for Correct Craft, a new generation is taking an active leadership roll in the company founded by W.C. Meloon in 1925.” Warner continued, “These two individuals have served Correct Craft for many years and bring with them a new energy and enthusiasm that will take our company into the future.”

    PRESS RELEASE:

ORLANDO, FL (1/15/04) – After 26 years of service to Correct Craft and the marine industry, Larry Meddock has announced his retirement as Vice President of Marketing and Special Events effective March 5, 2004.

“This has been a difficult decision, but ultimately, spending time with my wife and family is my primary goal. I play tennis, build RC planes and ride my Harley. I need more time to enjoy my family and hobbies,” said Meddock.

Meddock has been a part of the Correct Craft organization since 1978. As a part of the Correct Craft family, Meddock has held the positions Assistant to the President, Director of Promotions, Director of Marketing and appointed Vice President of Marketing and Special Events in 1986. During his tenure, Meddock has brought dedication and enthusiasm not only to Correct Craft, but to the entire marine industry.

Much has changed at Correct Craft over the years and Meddock has been a part of it all, helping to raise the bar for the entire inboard industry. Having logged over 1.2 million miles in travel, Meddock has been a representative of Correct Craft by taking the Nautique brand around the world. With his help, the company has maintained a world-wide dealer base and is the exclusive towboat of the industry’s premier events including the Masters, the World Championships and Australia’s Moomba Masters.

“ Larry and I worked side by side for 26 years. He has certainly earned retirement and owes it to himself to spend more time with his family and pursuing his other interests. Now that Larry is retiring too, I am looking forward to taking some road trips with him on our Harleys” said Walter N. Meloon.

Over the years, Meddock has served the marine industry and watersking in many capacities, including Chairman of the Board of AWSEF, two-time President of the WSIA as well as Tournament Director of Callaway’s Masters Waterski and Wakeboard Tournament, the most prestigious tournament in the world. Even though he is retiring, the Correct Craft Board has asked Meddock to act as a consultant to the company and its many events and affiliations.

Correct Craft announced that Jeffrey Warner has been promoted to the position of Customer Service and Dealer Development Manager.

In his new role, Warner will continue to build a department that has been the communication point for customers, dealers and company representatives. Over the years, the Customer Service Department has become an indispensable tool for Correct Craft, and now even more emphasis will be placed on it and the newly formed Dealer Development side of the department.

When asked about his new department, Warner had this to say “ I intend to help our dealers increase sales through product knowledge. It is my goal to help our dealers be even better ambassadors of the Nautique brand.”

Warner is no stranger to Correct Craft, as he is the great-grandson of the company’s founder, W.C. Meloon.

“We are pleased to have Jeff as a part of our management team,” said Michael Elrod, Vice President Manufacturing, “I can think of no other person more qualified to help us in our continuing quest to better serve our customers and help our dealers to grow and prosper.”

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando-based Correct Craft, Inc. is the recipient of its second consecutive J.D. Power and Associates award for customer satisfaction in the Ski/Wakeboard segment of its 2003 Boat Competitive Information Study.

Correct Craft received highest ratings at the J.D. Power Consumer Center at www.jdpower.com in every major factor of overall satisfaction in the Ski/Wakeboard boat segment, which includes: Overall Rating, Quality & Reliability, Value for Money, Exterior, Ride & Handling, and Ski & Board Usage.

Correct Craft also received the highest rankings in ten of twelve satisfaction factors in the study, with strong performance for engine and propulsion, maintenance and boat warranty coverage.

As a whole, product satisfaction within the Ski/Wakeboard segment is still higher than any of the other six boat segments, and Correct Craft also rated highest in quality, with the fewest problems. Correct Craft owners report fewer problems than every brand within this segment.

The Pleasurecraft Marine Engine Group (PCM) powered boats used by Correct Craft ranked highest with respect to overall engine satisfaction and product quality, and continue to outperform their competition.

In addition to providing an analysis of product satisfaction and quality problems, the study ranks boat manufacturers on an index of several product factors, including the boat's exterior, features and controls, ride and handling, comfort and convenience, and engine and propulsion system performance and maintenance.

The J.D. Power and Associates 2003 Boat Competitive Information Study is based on responses from a total of 10,734 owners of 2002 and 2003 model-year boats purchased between January 2002 and February 2003.

The second annual study also finds that those who test drive their boat prior to purchase are significantly more satisfied than those who do not. Again, Correct Craft vice-president Larry Meddock says that, "This factor has been the major point in Correct Craft's marketing strategy for a number of years, stressing its claim that the only real test that matters is yours."

Correct Craft will take the opportunity to personally thank its employees, dealers and major suppliers at its upcoming annual dealer meeting in Orlando, Florida this month. "Correct Craft dealers do a great job of representing our products and giving us the most satisfied customers in our industry, as our own satisfaction surveys have indicated," Meddock stated.

"Our suppliers also play a very important part in supplying Correct Craft with the finest materials available. Our craftsmen are the best in the industry, backed by a staff of professionals all working in concert to build the finest ski and wakeboard boats possible - as we have for nearly 80 years. Correct Craft is very proud of this very special team," concluded Meddock.

Correct Craft, Inc. manufactures the world-renowned Ski Nautique and Air Nautique inboard towboats.
