I'm trying to plan a week long family trip to Beaver Lake AR. I've heard it is a beautiful lake, and it is a central location to much of the family. Can anyone give me some information on the lake - where to ride, hang out, eat? We would like to rent a houseboat for the week, but I"m not sure if there are any available on that lake or not. Does anybody have any information on houseboat rentals, or, cabin rentals?
Thanks.

I went to Beaver for the first time late last year and I loved it. If money isn't really an issue Beaver Lakefront Cabins was where I stayed. It was super nice and I think they have some cabins that might fit a larger group. There isn't a bunch of lake front cabins to choose from (at least that is what I found). Eureka Springs is about 15 minutes from BLC, and there are plenty of dining /nightlife type places over there.
I was warned not to pull the boat down to the cabin from the main road since the side roads are gravel and the hills are steep. I put in by the dam, and then just dragged the trailer to the cabin where they have a nice storage area for trailers. Also, they have a nice dock with slips available, and they have an indoor heated fishing area on the dock (kinda stinks in there).
That lake is clean and not too crowded! Long coves, big hills for wind block, and you can see your toes when you are floating in the water! Best choice around in my opinion! We just rode right in the same cove where we stayed. It was in the fall so the only other boats we came accross were fishing boats and sail boats. Water was glassy almost anywhere in the cove!

I live in Lowell, AR and spend alot of time on Beaver. I would recommend staying on the eastern portion of the lake closer to Eureka Springs like C-Money mentioned--if your planning on staying in cabins. If you were planning on camping I would recommend staying more towards the Horseshoe Bend(Rogers, AR) area. Eureka is a really cool place with alot to do. You can't go wrong w/ Beaver wherever you plan on staying though. When are you planning your trip for?

This lake is beautiful. Many coves to ski and board. If you spend weekdays here you will always be able to find great water.
We have a new Nautique dealer here in Rogers, Wave Enterprises. Give them a call and I bet they can be very helpful. Cory is the sales manager and knows the good spots on the lake. For houseboats try Rocky Branch Marina east of Rogers.
