My family and I are looking to close out the season by renting a cabin on Dale Hollow Lake. Does anyone have any recommendations for marinas with nice cabins. Preferrably, we are looking for a place that has cabins close to the water.
Thanks,

There is a thread in the Off Topic section on this very question.
If you want a cabin on or near the water you will most likely have to stay at a marina as Dale Hollow does not have privately owned cabins on the water.
That said Dale Hollow is great...and I preferred it much more over Norris.
We stayed near Eastport Marina link (http://www.eastport.info/).
The cabins are nice and right next to the water...the marina isn't exactly modern...but it's the last family owned on the lake and a great place to get all the essentials.
You can launch your boat for free and a small slip (for my SNOB) cost like $75 for the week - which I thought was a steal.
Our cabins were here here (http://www.dalehollowlakecabins.com/).
We stayed "Treetops"...very nice, clean, modern.
It's not on the water, but there is a very primitive boat ramp about a 1/2 mile away...it's a 2 mile boat ride up the river to Easport.
I tried the ramp and wasn't comfortable launching at such a primitive site everyday where I was the only experienced boater...so we rented a slip at Easport and kept the boat in the water all week...it was 15 min drive by car to the marina (about 8 miles).
Eastport is probably suited for the serious skier / barefooter...the water is FLAT...I never went further than Eagle Creek b/c I didn't have to - I had perfect water every time right from the marina.
Be sure...Eastport is in the boonies...if your wife wants to go out for dinner - you'll have to drive to Sunset Marina for the nearest restuarant...it's a 12 mile drive by boat (pretty nice actually).
Anyway...hope this helps...if you want more info...just send me a PM and we can hookup by phone and I'll give you the run down.

We stayed here in August.

Cabins were above average and they have a hot tube. There were two ramps on site, a small store and boat slips. The boat slips ranged from free (uncovered) to $20 a day for a 11 ft wide covered. The 8 and 9 foot wide covered slips were $12 a day I want to say. Sunset Marina had the best restaurant we found on the water. I think it was almost 20 miles from Eagles Cove but we made the trip twice in a week.

TarponGator,
Did you actually stay at Eagle Cove or Holly Creek? I assume that you stayed at Eagle Cove based on your mileage estimate.

ealge's cove, sulfur creek have the nicer units but really are not on the water so to say overlooking at best but you can get a slip for the week. Willow groove has some that are a little old as well as Cedar hill, all which come with slips. If your coming from the north sulfur creek is tough to beat. marine, store and restuarant.
regardless of where you are on the lake is it is like glass everywhere with the exception of the open area around pine and goat island where it's really wide and open.
JMO but there is another lake about 30 mins up the road called Center Hill lake. Try Hidden Harbor Marina. They have cabins. I was footing at 2PM on a saturday. Dale can get rough late in the week and on weekends. You can also see 20' down in the water. Great lake

WE camp at star point almost every weekend, but the cabins at wisdom dock are on the water ,small but cheap, Wolf river has some cabins, but also has a small hotel with cheap rooms and a small restaurant. Sunset has nice facilities but seems to be a little spendy, I think its cheaper to rent a houseboat from them. These are on the east end of the lake so depending on your location the west end might have something better. my 2 cents.
