Im heading to Lake Anna with a friend whos Aunt lives on the water. I have never been there and know nothing about the lake. I guess we will be on the "private side"??? Is that the warm or cold side? Is there a public launch on that side?? Anything in perticular I need to watch out for in the lake? Anyone going to be there this weekend??? Thanks!

You're lucky that you'll be on the private side. It'll be INSANE there this weekend on the public side. Lake Anna is where I do 90% of my riding, but I avoid the lake on the weekends at all costs, especially holiday weekends. The private side is the warm side (not that you'll need it this time of year).

Since ive never been there.... Will I hae trouble finding a place to launch if her aunts launch wont work? Do alot of people in the area there have their own launches?

There are no public launches on the private side. You'll have to find a land owner to let you use their launch.

I have a place on the private side. Even it is getting too busy for my taste. I am a course skier and it is not possible unless you ski during the week.

Go towards dam 3 (farthest from the power plant). Little quieter down there and definately cooler. Probably 103 degrees in the water by the plant, upper 80s by dam 3.

Dam 3 was 92 gegrees over the weekend. I was literally sweating in the water. Thanks for all the help it was a blast up there!
