Nice Work!!!...I like the N emblem you were able to put in the box. That turned out great!! Side Note: Are you bringing your boat to Ottawa May 1st? Are you even going? Looking forward to seeing your boat and hearing that system of yours!!

Thanks - pretty pleased with it as well. Converting to the dual batteries is something I've wanted to do for a while. Right now it looks as if Ottawa is a go - really looking forward to riding, especially after taking it out for a "test" run this weekend.

That is awesome! How did you get that "N" emblem there? Really nice setup, looks great!

Thanks - I made the entire box out of the marine board (no fiberglass skills here) and cut the "N" out on a scroll saw. Screwed it to the box, covered it in carpet. I'll probably re-do the "N" later (had some new ideas) but for now - let's get riding!

Not to get off the subject, where did you get the carpet that you have laid on top of your standard carpet?

Extreme Power Sports - There are actually two carpets - one that extends under the driver's feet and another that fits in the open area to the rear of the drivers seat. (photo's will help - I'll see if I can get some) I know they make them to fit DD boats as well. They look sharp and do a great job of protecting the boat carpeting. The two sections connect via velcro which I am changing to snaps. (the adhesive on the velcro doesn't last)

Wow thats very nice. Nice job. Im very impressed at the quality of work some people are doing. DIY-ers are takeing over. Install shops watch out.
Its cool to see people take it to the next level and take pride in there work. I can see a trend starting where people are starting to take the install of there stereo as important as what they put in. Simpley building a square box and throwing a sub and amp in your boat is rapidly becoming non existant. People are starting to raise the bar, I think its all good.
Mabey Nautique will some day get a clue that the Factory Kicker upgrade is a Joke. And that people will spend the money you just got to give them somthing worth spending it on.

I sent EPS an e-mail about the carpet, but no word back. You never know when you send to a generic e-mail address when or if you will ever hear back. Is it a factory thing or do they just have someone do it for them? I love it.....

Side note, not bashing EPS at all.... Just made the statement as a general "when you e-mail someone from their website"

It has only been a few hours.....I don't expect them to drop everything....

It must be a factory thing. I met a guy on the water the other day that had those, and he's from North Carolina. I had never seen them before.

I love it.... One of the first comments from my wife about the Super....and pretty much all towboats in general.... "No snapout carpet."

I bet when they come out with the new Super Air, it will have snap-out carpet like the 211. That is a nice feature.

The snap out carpet was one of the big drawbacks about the tow boats vs. i/os. My wife and I decided we wanted the tow boat more than the snap in carpet, and now that I have seen more of the boats with snap in carpet, I think the fully carpeted deck actually looks more finished. Sure it is a lot more work cleaning it though.

I saw those floor mats at the dealer in Austin (Sail & Ski). I think the price was about $500, and it was a one piece design that covered the whole floor except the bow. it even had Nautique embroidered in it. They also had a few rectangle ones on the showroom flor to wipe your feet off before getting in the boats.

I don't remember what I paid, but I'm sure that it wasn't near $500 and actually don't know if it is a factory thing. I'll give them a shout tomorrow and also try to get a better picture for you all. I had seen them in a boat while I was at the dealership and had to have them as well. I would love to see the red/white/blue board in them.

This is the best photo of the carpets I had - I hope it helps - If you guys would like a better one let me know, next time I'm at the shop I'll take a few. The carpets for DD boats go around the motor box.
P.S. (and yes the boat is really dirty right now)

Whitechocolate- thanks and thanks again for your help. Here's two of the three amps I put in, I don't have photos of the others yet. It might not be in your league (maybe someday though) - but it sounds pretty good. I too cannot understand why CC doesn't pay more attention to the little details. The Kicker system that came with my boat just wasn't enough. I understand keeping costs down and all but, c'mon now!

Gotwake, Do you find that the carpet walks all over? We had this happen to us on several boats. We think it needs to be fastened down, but never did anything yet. Ideas?

They catch a little air from the bow (no windstop) but really don't move. I am going to put a few snaps in to the carpet and the floor (perhaps in the corners) and get rid of the velcro that keeps the two pieces joined, I'm thinkin that'll do the trick. The rubber backing, which is knobby like a floormat keeps mine from sliding.

Gotwake: That looks awesome, great idea! 2 questions for ya...

1. Where did you get that white plastic lid for the enclosure?

2. How does the seat attach to the enclosure?

I have an '02 SANTE and the seat on mine is held down by two "nubs" that sit down inside of two holes on the box, the newer SANTE's have a hinged seat to replace these nubs. Looking closely at your picture, I don't see either - how do you keep the seat from moving/sliding around?

Wow - I haven't looked at pictures of my old boat in awhile - Kinda brings a tear to my eye!

The lid I got from a local marine store, but I about bought one from West Marine, so I would try there.
To hold the seat cushion down I screwed nylon webbing to the bottom and put a couple of snaps in them. Ran one one each end and screwed the "snap base" into the side of the box. Worked just fine! THe nubs I simply removed.
I just made another box for my new boat to hold two PPI 4125 amps, and used the hinge this time. The trick in making these boxes is to insure that you account for the carpet thickness. Double check that the passenger flip seat sits correctly on the floor -

Sounds good, thanks for the info.

Post some pics of the new box w/PPI amps when you get a chance, I'm sure based upon your previous work it will look great. ****, now that I've seen the 220 pictures I'm thinking... why put more $$/time into my boat.. LOL
