Anyone out there from South Western PA (Pittsburgh). I ski in the Yough **** and am looking for new scenery, especially if there's a slalom course.

There are two slalom courses near Pittsburgh that I know of. Conneaut Lake, about two hours north of Pittsburgh. And Indian Lake in Somerset County, but that's a private lake so you'd have to buy a house there first. If you find any others, please let me know. BTW...how is the Yough? Do you run into much debris?

The Yough is very clean, especially compared to the rivers. Very little debris and great water except for mid-day on weekends.

Last time I was on Cheat Lake they still had a slalom course setup.

I live in Pittsburgh, usually spend most of my summers on Deep Creek Lake in MD, but also a lot on Yough dam. I know of 2 slalom course on DCL, however I believe both are private and usually underwater.

Why r u going to Deep Creek? Isn't it overly crowed? I almost always at the Yough, or Kiski... PM me if you wanna ski. Always looking for for someone new to ski with.

Yea it is true, DCL is slightly overcrowded, but mainly only on weekends. My family has 3 houses on the lake though so I usually live there from Memorial Day to July 4th, which is beautiful water Monday to Friday. After the July 4th holiday it gets pretty crazy, so I go down only on weekends.

However, the night life there is a lot of fun on the weekends

Anytime you're in the area shoot me an email, we're out just about every morning and evening.

Hello Everyone,
I just got registered on the site and was looking around. I posted this same question on the other SW PA thread as well. I am origionally from Pittsburgh, but live in Florida now. I had a question for you all. Any information you could give would be a big help... Where do you all buy your boats and equipment right now, and where do you get your boats serviced. The reason I ask is that I am tossing around the idea of opening a dealership in the Pittsburgh area. From what I can tell, the closest dealers are Conneaut lake and Deep Creek area dealers. I am just trying to get a feel for a possible market in the area. Any comments would be helpful. Thanks!!
