Members Online

You used to be able to see which members were online at the bottom of the lefthand border, what happened to that?

We had to change the way this was being handled.

This site runs on two pieces of software, one that runs the home page and one that runs the forums. They don't always integrate perfectly. What was happening was users were clicking on the users listed in the "Online" listing to send PMs to. This would go to an account the user didn't have access to causing them to never receive their PMs.

The count in the lower left hand corner is still accurate, just doesn't list members by name anymore.

Can we bring back the member names that are online somehow? Also the PM box from the left side is gone. It was easy to send PMs that way, now you have to remember the name or find a post they are in.

I'll see if I can bring back the PM notification on the left. The names being displayed caused a problem where people could send PMs through PostNuke (instead of the forums software). That's a problem because even though the messages could be sent, nobody can retrieve them from that system.

No you don't. If you're on the Home page, under "Recent Forum Activity" it will either have a link to your PM box if you have new ones, or say "Access Forums" if you don't have anything new. If you're in the forums just go to the top and there is a link for your Inbox.
