View Full Version : Oil Pressure
What is the normal oil pressure for a GT-40? I have noticed my boat tends to run on the high side (almost 80 at times). I never have a low problem. Is there a problem if it runs too high? My oil level is not over full and the boat seems to run perfect. Thanks

Normal oil pressure for the GT-40 is 35-65 PSI. It should be on the high end of that range when the engine is cold, and will decrease slightly as the engine warms up. If you're getting readings above 80, my first thought is that your oil pressure sensor might be starting to go bad. Try replacing that and see what happens.
