I just moved down here, and wondering if anybody else has a Nautique?

A little south of you (Reno), but own property on Agency. In our trips up there we have never seen any ski boats on either Upper Klamath or Agency. Just fishermen and sail boats. Wondered/assumed it was because of the alge bloom they get every year. Have you tried the water yet?

On the other side of the hill in Medford. I have also wondered if any one uses the lake there. If you do not use that lake what lake do you go to?

Wow.....good luck to ya. I grew up there. Watersports are virtually non-existant. Huge lake but the water is nasty. You might want to trade in your nautique for a fishing dingy. The trout in Klamath Lake are huge! The Klamath River in Keno or Lake of the Woods is your best option for watersports.

I live over in Medford and am looking to buy a Ski Nautique. I'd like a 1997 or newer. Know of any for sale?

Thanks,
Mitch

Fredk,
Do you ever get to Lake Almanor or Eagle Lake? Both tend to get blown out in the afternoon, but mornings can be awesome. Lot's of camping around. We head to either for day trips or camp a few nights (live in Susanville). Also in our area is Antelope Lake, small, but protected and really nice, just a bit longer to get to (through the small mountain roads.)
Perhaps we'll see you sometime up here, or if we head down your way

SkiBlue,

OH YEAH! We ski Eagle quite often. In fact we rent a cabin on the water there every year near Stone Landing. We'll be going again this year July 14 - 21st. We also make day trips there on the weekends if the weather looks right for no wind. We have been lucky. We have only been blown out on 1 weekend. The week trips we can usually count on 1 or 2 days blown out, but (knock on wood) for the most part our trips have been great. More of a problem with the mayfly hatch! Boat takes forever to clean and I hate pickin' them darn bugs out of my teeth. When we go, you will always find us at the couse in the north end along Troxel Point near the tules. Never tried Antelope or Almanor. Didn't think there was a need to with Eagle being so good and few skiers or boarders.

If your around that week, come on by! We have a '05 206 with blue and black graphics (sorry no pics) and look for the big yellow lab, our trade mark:-) The weekend trips vary between Sat and Sun depending on schedules.

Fredk,

Have you been on the water yet?
We hit Eagle the other night and Almanor on Monday, both good days. Not many people at Almanor. Nobody in the water at Eagle, just fishermen. We're headed to Eagle again Friday, should be a nice day.
That's so funny that you stay up at Stones. I worked on two houses right there above the little cabins by the launch ramp. Both of them have cedar siding on them, on is visible from the lake, the other just behind it. The one was right as summer started and it killed me to be working with the glassy water out there and not a single boat taking advantage of it. The other was in winter with the wind howling off the lake blowing the snow making life miserable.
We'll be at Eagle a lot this summer, so hopefully we'll see you there.

Life long Ca resident, but made it to Eagle Lake for the first time 2 years ago. Really like it. Out of the way. No crowds. Several trips to Almanor as a kid. Does get windy in the afternoons, but again, nice place. I'd second both. BKH

SkiBlue.
we finally got out last weekend but left the 206 at home. Skied a new private lake. Considering buying a lot. It will have 5 lakes when done and 50 homesites. Water comes from geothermal so it is warmer than any of the lakes. If we decide to buy, we'll probably ski there most of the summer except for the July trip. If we do head up to Eagle, I'll send you a PM.
