View Full Version : Windshield Noise
Finally got the new boat out, 2004 CC 216 Sport Limited, to start loggin hours for the break in period. All is fine except an annoying vibration sound from both sides of the windshield. What's up with that? Am I too picky for a brand new boat? I figure I should ask the experts prior to harassing the dealer.

It is hard to say exactly where it is coming from but it could be from the supports that hold the frame up or it could be from the rubber seal not being in place very well that sits between the windshield and the deck. For this one, you are probably best to take it to your dealer when you have your 25 hour check done. You might want to let them know about this now so that they can make sure that they have any parts there that they might need to be able to take care of you quickly. Good luck with it!! Post some pictures of the boat too!!
Thanks, I appreciate the quick comments. I'll try to get the pix up soon.

I agree with skinautique. That is something that should be fixed. A brand new Correct Craft should be pretty much perfect.

Definately shoud not be vibrating or rattling anywhere. Ours only has 7 hours on it and is tight and rattle free no matter how rough the water. I had a few issues with cosmetic things I noticed after delivery. The vinyl on the rear storage had a long very minor cut in it, the large air graphic on the port side had wrinkles in it, and one of the small wakeboard stickers on the starboard side had been gouged the length of it. One call to the dealer and CC was sending new upholstery and graphics for the boat. Both the dealership and CC took care of me without even visually varifying the damage. Thats why I bought a Nautique! Small things like that will make me a CC customer forever! You should have no problem resolving your problem.
As a follow up, I think I may have narrowed the problem down to the following: the aisle section of the windshield is closed with plastic tabs. While unloading gear from our last outing, I could hear the annoying squeak (sort of like styrofoam rubbing together) coming from these tabs rubbing on the frame. I'll let the dealer have a go of it at the 25 hour mark. I may hit the tab with a touch of silicone. It does make me wonder about the flexing of the windshield though.
Good to know you've had excellent success working with the dealer and CC. This is why I purchased from CC also...
