Get Twiggy behind that thing. I'd like to see him hit the double up.

That thing is great! Supposedly they have a inboard/direct drive replica that should be out this month.

Hey Moe, my boat doesn't seem to go that fast? did you make an changes to yours? I already checked into different motors and putting a small light on the bow for the bow light, the hobby shop "says" I can't put faster motors on it.

Take a look at Moe's contributions to THIS THREAD (http://www.planetnautique.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=526). He's made quite a few modifications to his R/C SAN.

check out www.towerhobbies.com for parts. I used a local hobby shop for a lot of my parts. They also told me I couldn't upgrade the motor. Then I told them I AM GOING TO MAKE THIS BOAT GO FAST! and that if they don't have the parts someone else would. So they ended up having everything I needed. If anyone is really interested I can get a complete list of parts I used and some more detailed instructions. I will tell you this though. You're loooking at about $200-$250 plus the original kit.

Speaking of Twiggy, how come this size model isn't available?

Moe, I fly electric planes (park flyers) so I have the servo for the rudder, 4 800mAh Ni-Mh batteries... What size is the seed control? if thats what I see the batteries pluged into? I have a 5amp but with 2 batteries I think I would need a 10amp... I guess I am going to have to buy the rest...

Moe...great job!! Maybe you can bring that to some of the events we are going to have this summer? It would be a big hit I'm sure.

Frost,
I don't know for sure what the size of the speed control is for sure. The local hobby shop set me up with one that is waterproof. My batteries are 2-1000 Mah NIMH. the are 6 cell so it is 7.2 volts. they also power the receiver so there is no need for an additional pack for it. Good luck with yours if you do it, I sure had fun putting mine together.

Eric,
You can count on it being at Cedar Point for sure, maybe some other events as well. how are things going at "rons" for you?

Moe: Things are going great at Ron's Marine. It is nice to have Chris, Floyd and the rest of the guys part of our team now. FYI we are working with Shaun on getting the BYT again this year. Hey...thanks for sending some pro shop customers up our way today...Thanks for all your support.

Moe, I am in the process of doing exactly what you did to yours. Good thing I saw this first because I was trying to get a servo to control the motor. Yeah, it's the old school way.

Would it be possible to get that list of parts?

I think the local dealers have them

And yes they do make a direct drive replica version. I was at my dealer a month or so ago, and he had half a dozen of the direct drive versions, and just as many SANs.

A quick note to those that use them in their pools, mine lasted about two months before the chlorine killed it just like every other rc boat I have run in the pool.

Now it is time for a full tilt r/c conversion.

Also for those that are looking how it comes apart: there are three screws, one under the battery cover, one under the bow lifting ring, and the third under the glob of black silicone in the bow walk thru in the floor. After that the top just pops right off at the rub rail.

ag4ever, is that for the 206, 210, or both versions???

210, I have not looked closly at the 206 version, but I asume they use the same bottom portion, and therefore have the same screw spacing.

We will be getting one of the 206 versions in the green color combo and I would love to do something like Moe did. I saw them at Toys R Us the other day... pretty cool.

I would expect something to be where the engine is on the real boats, but your probably right abou the bottom portion.

Thanks for the reply, may have to get one next time im down in vancouver, its crazy that there is no cc dealer here in kelowna, just mastercraft and malibu.

monkey,
I havent seen them down on the island or in van (at the walmarts or toys R Us that is...) My girlie picked me up one when she was down in arizona (ya, she spoils me!). The number for enzos inboards (nautique dealer) in van is 270 6535 and they always treat me well and ship things right away. Maybe give them a call and see if they can round you up one and ship it up.

Abun,

did you see the 206 at Toy-r-us?

I need to replace mine, as it is not working, and my nephew just loves playing with it in the pool. I would like to get the 206, so I can try and put the red hull under my blue top to kind mimick my SAN. Also I want the old style tower like they are putting on the 206 model.

I can't seem to find the 206 anywhere but my dealer, and they want like $70 for it. I think that is crazy when wally world sells them for $39.77.

ag4ever, I definitely saw it, both the 206 and 210 in toys r us. I'm actually surprised by your prices, I saw it for 40 at toys r us, and our dealer sells them for 50, and gives one away for free if you buy a boat, kinda like a buy one get one free, except the R/C version. And Overtons is the only place that i've seen them sold for 70, which i agree is outrageous.

Did your "local toys r us" not have them? It seems you kinda wanto to make a hybrid R/C nautiuqe...seems cool!

I only checked one, and they did not have any, but I also checked three wall-marts, and only one had the 210's. I guess I will just have to fall on the 206 when the time is right.

Yeah, I too am surprised at how much the dealer wants for them, and they also gave away like ten of them at the boat show as well as some wakeboards and coolers. They gave out a hundred or so small coolers just for showing up at the 211 grand unveiling, and I have one of them, as well as a large version. Both are hign quality coolers that have the dealer's logo stiched into them.

And, yes I plan on doing a hybrid r/c nautique. It must look like the full size version!

AbunDiga909

lol... looks like you've got a plan... and it seems like the dealer wants to make up for all the money put into those nice coolers...

OK, here are some photos of the two boats side by side. It looks like they are similar hulls, but different in some places like the radio box. Also the tower on the 206 does not fit directly on the 210. i will have to heat it up and bend it some for it to fit the holes on the 210. This will be a project! I won't put the red hull on it till the 206 breaks (and it will due to the chlorine levels in the pool) after some use by my nephew. Right now it is without tower, and it looks sharp.
