I was talking with a guy at a pro shop about getting a new board, and told him I liked Hyperlite for a number of reasons, name brand being one of them. He told me that next year, the company with that name brand quality won't be Hyperlite anymore. This may be old news, but now you can even get their boards at Costco... Herb is now opening up another company, Ronix, and they should be releasing boards starting next year... if I'm correct... Has anyone heard anything of them or about them... Thanks...

Yeah, it's been discussed on other forums. But Paul O'brien and others are starting the company and already have Harf, and Parks riding for them.

ahahah, I heard that. The boards should definately be nice, I'm definately going to check them out next year when they arrive on the scene, but until then I'ma stick with my 03 Parks (cause I'm poor at the moment  )

Yeah, I hear they'll be nice too...

What do you think of the close-toed bindings? I just demoed the TORQ step-in ones, and love them. They're real comfortable, a breeze to get in, and my feet dont hurt at all by the end of my run.

Check out some of the interviews (http://www.metaphoricalwaterwonderland.com/php/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6&Itemid =14) with their riders.

I've been trying to cover as much Ronix information as possible too.

Posted this a few days ago:

And this one about a month back:

Erik, thats pretty much the most coverage I've seen yet. I have that issue with the Ronix board on the front, and the headline says something like "Whats new for next year!?" and I got all excited to learn about the Ronix boards, but nothing! I guess they really are still in the innovative process...

I started watching those interviews on www.metaphoricalwaterwonderland.com (ronix.com would have been a lot easer IMHO :???:) and got through a lot of the one with Parks, but I dont know.. they just got reaaaaaaaly looooooong and booooring..... I couldn't bring myself to view all 4 or 5 or however many there are....

Oh yeah, I'm with you Erik, I would HATE to get invited to Radar Lake, looks like one big crappy time there...

From what I understand they do already have a lot of their production board in the Seattle area.

There are a lot of pictures floating around with the different setups and preproduction models.

The bindings are are still in more of a Proto Stage, specifically with the inner lining. Chad and Danny are still testing to see what they will like. ANd the base plate you see are not going to be the production plates. those wre just slapped on there so they can start using the bindings.

Their boards do have a thinner profile than I'm used too, most noticably in the tip and tail.

Abundiga909- you can also get there by typing www.ronixwake.com
