What are the water temps around there (Bristol) this time of year? I'm looking for somewhere to go over spring break within 8-10 hours of Chicago.

I live about 50 miles south of Montgomery, Al. Hometown is Brantley (doubt you've ever heard of it). I ski at Gantt (small lake close to Andalusia with glass smooth water) and Eufala (much more rough). Havent tried to board at Martin yet, though i have been, always too rough for me though.

We ski on Fort Rucker. Best in the mornings and evenings.

never been to Rucker. heard its not so good. you should really try gantt. smooth most of the time whenever. of course its like glass (literally) early mornings after a rainy afternoon (like this morning). we went this morning and it was so great. unbelievable.

I live in Sylacauga, AL. and do most of my boating on Lake Martin. Wakeboarding is my true love, but we also ski, tube, and kneeboard...just about anything for fun on the water. I usually stick around the north end of the lake since it's closest to home.
