M2O did a great job with the boat it looks awesome. Nice rims on the trailer I have the same ones.

What are you running for a lift on your F250, 6" or 8"??

Thanks, we are very pleased with everything on the boat!!! We wanted something different for wheels than the normal steel wheels so I got the aluminum stars. I think they make the trailer look classier. The color was the most difficult thing to pick, but we are estatic about the results.
The F350 has 8" Deaver springs with 37" BFG's.

That is a nice boat! Which blue is that, the viper or the navyish one. I havent seen the latter one in person, thats why i'm asking. Lets see some pics in the water...

Thanks for the compliment! There is Vapor Blue which is new for this year, and Midnight Blue which they have had for a few years. We opted for the darker of the two which is the Midnight Blue. Looks real nice on the water. I don't have any on the water pics just yet, but I will post one as soon as I get it. There is alot of debris floating on our lakes here in San Diego since the fires, so I haven't been out in a couple of weeks.

Is that a reverse light I see on the side of the trailer under the stern? It's facing sideways?

SuperAirDave

The trailer actually has four wheel steering. The tires can turn completely sideways for getting into tight spots. There is a remote control in the truck. YEAH RIGHT! Actually, the light lens sticks out just a little past the trailer frame so it casts light straight back also. I thought it was a strange way to mount them too, but they actually work pretty cool.

Sick boat!!!! I really like your colors...hey, what kind of mirror is that? Definitely throw some pics up when you get it in the water!!

The mirror is from Phatbuddies. It puts it up and out of your line of sight, and really reduces vibration. I'll post a better picture as soon as I re-size them. I also polished the aluminum air intakes next to the rear ballast tanks. The factory paint was of poor quality, so I stripped them and polished them. They look good with the stainless cleats and fuel fillers.

I like the polished intakes. Very Sharp! How long did it take you to do that?

SuperAirDave

I used aresol paint stripper. The paint literally fell off to bare metal in 5 minutes. I was fortunate enough to have a local shop that does metal polishing close, so instead of spending two hours doing it myself, I took them over and had the shop do them. They charged me $20 bucks, and it took them 15 minutes while I waited. I then polished each of the stainless screws with some Mothers Mag Polish so they would look uniform.

Ditto on the intakes...clever idea. Looks much better than the stock silver paint. When we get a chance we're going to copy your idea...if you don't mind... :D

oh...btw, are you concerned with rusting at all...

SuperAirDave
03-01-2004, 02:34 PM
They are aluminum so they can't rust. Upkeep is no different than an aluminum wheel. Throw a little aluminum polish on a soft cloth every once in a while, and your good to go. The more polished the aluminum is, the easier the upkeep. Then you can wax it along with the boat for protection against the elements. I am going to pull off the aluminum clamps for my flight clips and polish them too!

Boat Looks Great! I really like the colors and the Truck even better...U put any sacs or anything in there to make the wake bigger! Remember Bigger is Better

SuperAirDave
03-02-2004, 03:52 PM
No, just using the factory ballast for now. Not sure if I need any more wake than I have.

I thought the plates were aluminum...what about the screws? If they are steel and you removed the paint "protecting" them, do you think they'll rust. Or do you know if they are stainless steel? We have the invert clips, so polishing up these intakes would ice the cake for our boat.

SuperAirDave

The screws are stainless steel, just with a machine finish. (Not smoothed out). Put some Mothers Mag Polish on a rag, lay it on a smooth hard surface, and take the screws one at a time and rub the face of it back and forth on the polish. The hotter the metal gets, the softer it gets. (The faster it will polish up). It will slowly turn into a mirror finish. Took me about fifteen minutes to do all of them.

Is there 3 tanks in that or just 2?

skinautique
03-02-2004, 09:33 PM
If it is a team (which I think he said it is), there are 3 tanks that hold a total of 850 lbs.

SuperAirDave
03-02-2004, 10:25 PM
Skinautique is right on the money, "Team's" have 3 ballast tanks, for a whopping total of 850 lbs. Alot of guys run additional bags, but I don't need it for my riding level.

skinautique
03-02-2004, 10:27 PM
For a good amount of people, 850 is sufficient. Then you have those people that just like to build as big of a wake as they can just to out do their friends! j/k

Next thing ya know one day people will start taking out all of the extras like carpets, stareos, extra gear seats (to a certain extent) windshields, upholstry etc...to out-do the their friends wake on one's 196!

thanks SuperAirDave...we're definitely going to do it. Appreciate the info... I'll let you know how they turn out...cheers!

SuperAirDave

I know you'll be pleased with the outcome. Only thing better would be to make them out of stainless and polish those. Then upkeep would be next to zero. I would, but noticed they have been put into a press and bent to keep with the contour of the boat. They have just the slightest arch to them.

Great looking boat. I like the extras you have done, the intakes look good I also like the exta air decal on the tower.

SuperAirDave

Thanks for all of the replies, yeah, I cut out one of the wake boards from another sticker and added it to the tower. You are the first one to notice it. Just got back from Lake Shasta for seven days, put 45 hours on the boat. Absolutely flawless performance, and what a great lake!!!
