View Full Version : Motor Comparison
Does anyone have the torque numbers for the GT-40, Excalibur, and ZR-6. I would also like to know what each motor's respective torque curve looks like. I'm just curious how these motors compare torque-wise.
BTW, why doesn't companies like PCM or Indmar publish these numbers?

This is all I have been able to find. No torque numbers here though.

This from a 2002 PCM handout: According to GM Powertrain, the standard 5.0L makes 303 ft/lbs of torque, the 5.7L makes 350 ft/lbs. It's a function of cubic inches - the engine makes approx on foot-pound of torque per cubic inch of displacement.
PCM 5.0L @ 305ft/lbs x 23%(due to gear reduction) = 375ft/lbs
PCM 5.7L @ 350ft/lbs x 23% = 430ft/lbs
