I picked up my 2002 Sport last Saturday. Counldn't be more proud to be an owner of a Correct Craft! I've already completely detailed the boat (not shown in picture), which includes cleaning and oiling the teak swin platform.

Just a little about my background: I have dreamed of having a Ski Nautique dating back to 1986 following the first time I went out in a buddies 86 2001 SN. I graduated from college in 87 and finally bought my first inboard in 89 (used 87 Supra Comp TS6M). I ended up getting the itch for a new boat in 1992 and started dreaming again for a Correct Craft. Unfortunately, the CC dealer in my area was not willing to really deal on a SN, therefore I ended up with another Supra Comp. I've very "happily" owned the Comp for the last fourteen years (still dreaming CC though).

I ended up seeing this used 2002 Sport with 135 hours on it and determined that it was the perfect boat for our family (married with a 5 year old daughter). Someday, we may want to put a tower on it or upgrade to another CC in five years or so.

I did purchase the boat with a new 2005 Ram-lin trailer. The pin for the break-away tongue was rusted in the hole. I have now gotten that free. It does seem to be difficult to effectively use the break-away tongue option on the trailer however. Do others feel this way?

My first real project on the boat is going to be making the adapter cable to be able to mount an IPod to the Clarion XMD1 stereo using the CD Changer input. I purchased the hardware and will begin this project next week.

Anyway, very PROUD to be a Correct Craft owner, and thankful that all of you make up such an informative owners website.

I'm trying to come up with a new screen name to replace the no longer needed "WANABE"!

Hey dude - sweet ride. I am glad you decided on the 216 over the 196 or 206 - your growing family will use the extra space and you can now ask momma for a bigger garage. I love the colors and can't wait to see the new teak platform finished - I bet it looks super classy, which is suitable for the classiest guy I know. Thanks for getting my family into the CC family, we would not be here if had not been for your advise - and that goes for all all of the tid-bits teachiong me how to operate ours. You're an awesome guy with a ton of CC and inboard knowledge. I am glad you made the move - it all works out.

How about "proud2be SN" - it seems fitting. More pictures please!

Your lil' boat bro,

Thanks for all of the nice comments. I couldn't be more pleased to finally be part of the Correct Craft family. I've now posted a few more pictures. I also lost the username "snwanabe" and now go by "Proud2beCC". Thanks AN211!

I see you're livin the rough life P2B - house, SUV, and SN - WOW!!!! You are my hero. I love the new name - it is very fitting. Also, the platform looks sweet - good work on that. I wonder if you can find a fiberglass white with black rubber platform for that boat - you know the larger style. That would also look very cool.

Anyway, you got it goin on - glad we're family!

That's by far the nicest color combination I've ever seen on a Correct Craft. Very classy stern! I've become a huge open bow fan. The Sport by far is the ideal family boat for all purposes. Enjoy!

I'll second the notion--nicest color combination I've ever seen on a Nautique.

Awesome boat!

Thanks for all of the possitive comments. Just got off of the water and had another awesome nautique day! Worked on trying to teach our five-year old daughter to wakeboard.

That's great! How did the training go? Two weeks ago we taught six young children to wakeboard. They all loved it!

Our family has continued to enjoy our new 02 Sport. Our new boat brings a lot of comfort features that we are really enjoying now (i.e. open bow, tons of storage, and especially EFI).

The wakeboard training for our five year old was primarily getting her in the board, having her hang on to the rope, and pulling her up by hand off of the platform manually, not under boat power. We felt this would give her the feel of the initial tow. We have also been getting her on a tube quite a bit. I know, I really don't like tubers either, but this gives her the comfort zone of going across the water at 22ish MPH. She's now doing most normal moves to show off a bit in the tube. What's next......combo skis w/bars or wakeboard? Our wakeboards are pretty large.

Anyway, here's one of best items of my new CC . . . . . the open bow. Never really thought that we would enjoy it as much as we do. I'll never own another boat without one.

Proud,

Great looking boat! It looks super clean. We are having the same experience. We sold our 81 - 2001 for a 04 206 air and the open bow has been one of the best features. As far as what to do with the little one, I say go for the wakeboard. You probably know this but the WB is much easier than combo's and she'll progess at light speed. There's a couple of things you can try. Have your spouse get into the water and help her up and turn the board also great for encouragement. Another is to sit on the transum and the platform with gloves hold the rope at about (20ft) as if you were going to pull her up like before only have your spouse give the boat a just a little gas and she should also pop up. This would give the idea you would pull her up but actually the boat did. At five years old it shouldn't be too much of a strain on you...I got my kids started at 7 which is quite a bit different but it only took about an hour to get them up and going for the rest of the trip.

Good luck and enjoy!

Last summer I strapped my daughter, 7 at that time, into a junior wake board. She popped right up and actually scared her self. She has not wanted to try again. We did teach her to ski this summer, using junior combos that are tied together. Started her from the boom, then boom + handle, then long line. She loves it. She has been knee boarding for 3 years now so she understood the pull of the rope. Good luck with the teaching. Good to see another 216 in the area.

I do have a kneeboard. That's another option that we considered.

Dude - Court is looking sooo much older now - holy cow! Man, you are in for a ride the next few years - you might as well quit the job and move to the lake. Love the boat, the family and your enthusiasim.

The lake and ramp look great too - never been to HR!
