Anyone in the Lake Anna area? If so, keep an eye out for me. I'd like to meet up with some people to ride with this summer.

We are in the Smith Mountain Lake Area - not too far. We can ski, board, chair together if your in our area. Our old Excel moved up closer to you (Charlottesville) - we are waiting on our new Air 206. Great Site BTW!

Sounds good! I'm sure I'll make it up to SML sometime this summer. Are you an EORG (http://www.endofropegang.com) member by chance?

Seems like a lot of NC riders............. they seem to be supported by White Lake Marine. That is where we ordered ours - was yours from Mid Ohio (as on trailer guides?)?

My first Nautique (http://www.planetnautique.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=100) came from White Lake. I frequent their Burlington/Graham location. Ken and Shannon are great. My new one did come from Mid-Ohio Nautiques (http://www.midohionautiques.com/index2.htm). I looked at a couple of White Lake's Super Airs, but I didn't like the colors of one, and the other one was a signature edition with no options. Eric at Mid-Ohio gave me a great deal on my boat, and I think I made a good decision buying from him. He has also helped out some with keeping the information on this site as accurate as possible. The new boat has already been to White Lake twice for various things, and they're probably the only ones I'll let touch it as far as work goes.

I hope to have a boat this spring and will be boating out of Sturgeons Marina.

Cool. That is a great place to put your boat in. They have a bunch of ramps and nice new floating docks.

What kind/types of boats are you looking at?

Looking at alot of boats, hard to decide brand and model.

I have a hold on an Air Nautique 216.

Its gotta be a ski boat first and then a wakeboard boat. I want to try wakeboarding and my kids will probably want wakeboarding first. I also like the idea of at least alittle room for coolers, toys, and friends.

Its just hard to justify 45k+. Especially when the lake is 1.5 hrs away and its a zoo on weekends.

Will have to find others willing to blow off work early during the week.

Or find someone on the private side!! :)

Another avenue would be to look at a slightly used boat. The boats are built extremely well and will last a life time. If you need answers about any of the boat brands, let me know. I have seen the big 3 inside and out and skied them all.

I've thought about Pre-owned, but can't see spending 35 to 38k and gettig a used 02 /03 boat. And then I don't get the boat I want (options and color)

I had a MC prostart in the early 90s and loved the boat. Not that crazy about the newer MCs. And I can get a simular nautique for about the same price as a malibu. It seems Malibu's days as a budget minded boat are in the rear view mirror.

The last 3 years I've been to the spring boat shows and each year I get closer to jumping in. This may be the year!!!!

I am not going to start bashing on any boats but when you get down to it, there are many "behind the scenes" details that really set the companies apart. If you are going to finance at all, this probably is the year as interest rates are extremely low.

Hey Jeff!

I am on the private side of Anna. Water still 80+ degrees over there. Just got back from skiing. Not much wakeboarding, just competitive slalom.

New to this site... I will post pic of my 03 SN, if I can figure out how to do the avatar thing.

Dave...

Ah, the warm side. I haven't been over there yet. In the past, I have skied up until about mid-October on the cold side. I keep trying to find someone with connections to the warm side, but so far have come up with nothing.

Let's see some shots of your boat. I miss my '94 that I got rid of for my SAN, and trying to slalom behind the SAN just isn't the same as it was behind my Ski Nautique. That's the price you pay though for having a real wakeboat. It is kind of funny. I didn't touch my Mapple all season until the last time I was out. Now I remember how much fun slalom can be, and I want to get back into it. Only a couple of weeks left this season, so I'll probably be out there this weekend if it doesn't rain. Let me know if you ever want a pull behind the SAN!

Jeff, time for a SV211.

I really like the SV-211, but I just don't think it is my style. What I'd really like to do is keep my Super Air and get a new 196. Wouldn't that be great?? It would be like the best of both worlds! Not likely to happen for me though, at least not anytime soon. Anyone want to donate to the "Jeff Needs Two Boats" fund?

Hey Jeff,

Looks like I'll be down at the lake this Sat, I can give you a pull behind an real ski boat if you can give me a pull behind a real wakeboard boat.

That would be cool, but I have to work all day on Saturday. I'll be there Sunday though. Any chance you'll be around then?

Forecast for Oct 30 Partly Cloudy

Daytime High /Overnight Low (°F) Precip.
82°/62° 10 %

It looks like tomorrrow will be my last day on the lake until next spring.

Jeff, any way you can make it down there?

NautiqueJeff

That forecast looks great! I'll be stuck at work all day though, so I won't be able to make it. My interior is all apart anyway. I'm working on a little project, and the boat is not ready to hit the water right now anyway. Sounds like it is going to be a good day though!

I may try to get out early next week. We'll be hosting the Liquid Force Trip Across America at Smith Mountain Lake Thurs. & Fri. may 12 & 13. Last Thursday at Anna the water was 64- not too bad, but the air has still been chilly too.

Jeff, time for a SV211.

Just curious: is the SV211 a decent slalom boat? Ever since I purchased my Ski Nautique in 1997, I haven't been keeping up with the advancements in other boat configurations. Past experience tells me the v-drives are good family boats, but not that great for slalom skiing. Have things really changed that much with the introduction of the SV211? How do the slalom wakes compare with the 196?

My friend told me that his friend just bought a marina on this lake and is trying to turn it into a MC dealership... anyone heard of this???

NautiqueJeff
05-07-2005, 10:05 AM
On SML or Lake Anna? There are only a handfull of marinas on Lake Anna, although the Malibu dealer on the lake did just close down recently. Do you have any idea what part of the lake he's talking about?

AbunDiga909

I don't have the details yet, but I am sure the guy said Lake Anna, and that he is waiting to get the dealership there. I vaguely remember being told that MC is waiting for the new season or something to give this marina the dealership, but I'm not sure yet.

I'll be out at lake anna tomorrow afternoon and SML Westlake Inn/Indian Point on Thursday and Friday. I'll bring a 211 to SML if anybody wants to check it out. We'll also have a couple 210's and Liquid Force will have their Malibu Wakesetter LSV. We may also have Freestyle's Wakesetter LSV.

Man, I wish I could make it out tomorrow. I was out today, but I was by myself. My wife was supposed to meet me at the lake, but ended up stuck at work. I looked all over the lake for anyone who might be around, but saw exactly zero other wakeboard boats out today.
