I just wanted to create a sticky topic about this event. It should be one of the best Correct Craft events of the year. Here's what Eric Rankin of Mid-Ohio Nautiques (http://www.midohionautiques.com/index2.htm) had to say about the event:

The Midwest Correct Craft Owners Reunion will be at Cedar Point Amusement Park in 2004. The date is Saturday June 19th. We hope to make this even bigger and better than before. Ralph Meloon, Greg Meloon and myself meet with officials of the park on Monday. This site is gonna be great and the whole family will have a good time. I will see to it that Jeff gets a copy of the entry form just as soon as it is printed.

The ENTRY FORM (http://www.planetnautique.com/CorrectCraftManuals/Ohio.pdf) is available for download here.

We're going to work many suppliers and HO-Hyperlite to make it very special. Trying to also come up with some idea on how to have a contest to give away a boat. Still working on that right now. I'm open for any ideas or anyone that would like to help out. It would be very cool to have a PlanetNautique reunion the same time.

Mid-Ohio will also have most of the 2004 Nautiques in the water and available for demo rides. They will have the new SV-211 at the event.

Let's make this the official thread about this event. If anyone has any input, post it here. There are two or three other threads about this event, and I think it would be best to keep all of the information together.

As far as I knew, this event was controlled more by MidWest CorrectCraft. Am I wrong?

skinautique please explain "controlled" ?? I would have assumed that you have been to these type of reunions before and knew how they worked.

Sorry Eric,
I used the wrong word. What I was trying to say was that it was run more by MWCC. Maybe I am wrong?

skinautique: okay I understand....I didnt understand what you were asking or trying to say. For everyone here is an outline on how this reunion will be handled for the Mid-West region. Correct Craft funds most of this event with additional funds coming from Mid-West Correct Craft and any dealers that want to participate. Corporate, Mid-West and Mid Ohio Nautiques and Mid-Ohio Marine will be supplying the manpower for this event. Many local dealers and thier customers will also be part of this first time event at Cedar Point. Mid-Ohio Nautiques suggested a new venue at Cedar Point and started a year and a half ago talking with the people at Cedar Point and once we got the blessing from Correct Craft corporate there was a meeting with Cedar Point, Greg Meloon, Ralph Meloon and Mid-Ohio Nautiques. MID OHIO NAUTIQUES will be supplying the boats for the demo rides. 196, 206, 216, 210, 211 and 226. So I would have to say that this event is "run" or "controlled" by all parties listed above. Iy also takes a lot of time from all those listed above...and right in the middle of everyones busiest time. This event is put on to get all of the loyal Correct Craft customers together and have a fun day with family and friends. We were very disapointed that they did not have it last year and want to show Corporate that these type of events are important and well attended. I think that the Ohio reunion is still the largest reunion and I hope that "WE" can make it an event that everyone will enjoy and talk about for some time. WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO HELP PASS THE WORD AND HOPE WE GET A HUGE TURNOUT. Thats all......ERIC

Do you have to be a member of the NOA or anything? What do you need to be/do/have to go?

Correct Craft is in the process of adding a page to their website about the 2004 Correct Craft Reunions.

Here's the link:

AbunDiga909 No you dont have to be a member of NOA. You just need to have a passion for Nautiques. We hope you can make it.

I spoke with Correct Craft this morning and they are telling me that a post card will be going out soon and that I should get an entry form anyday. I will forward that to Jeff as soon as I receive it so that he can post it on this site.

I've never gone to any of these but have read abot them in NOA and other places. Do we just roam around a parking lot fill of Nautiques? there has to be something more, don;t yhou think? SOme type of clinic, maybe? Maintenance or drivers clinics? How about inviting vendors like ski companies, accesories, audio, biminis, etc? Do you have an itinerary or schedule of events? Can you help us with hotels?

I was on CC website and they still do not have a registation form for the the Cedar Point event. I'm going to make hotel reservations soon. Has anyone ever stayed at a hotel at Cedar Point? What is the nicest hotel that is closest to where the reunion activities will take place?

Since I have never been to a reunion, do owners that bring their boats put them in the water or do they stay on the trailer the whole weekend? Please advise as I am contemplating bringing my boat!

SprintCar39
04-12-2004, 01:49 PM
They will stay on the trailer all weekend.

Also: NOA is no longer! I asked Correct Craft about this again and they say it is done.....period. Jeff Warner said it was done over a year and a half ago.....that was news to me.

Pencil me in for a slalom behind a 196, a footin' run behind a 216, and a boarding ride behind a 210 please.:)

We will put you on the list....is there a list?

See ya in June.

Hollywood, seems like you know what you want...

Does anyone know if things like what Hollywood wants can happen? Can we ask for a ride behind someones boat? Seems kinda hard to get a slalom, footin', and board run behind the ideal boats for it if their gonna be on trailers the whole weekend....thats kinda a bummer... :?

SprintCar39
04-13-2004, 07:40 AM
Abun, If you read everthing in all the posts on this subject you can learn a lot. 99ProAir asked about bringing his boat and if it would be in the water or on the trailer and I replied that it would be on the trailer. If you read the initial post by Jeff you will see that we will have one of every model in the water for demo rides. The weather or wind that day will dictate if we can slalom or barefoot in the Sandusky Bay. Does this answer you questions? :D

AbunDiga909
04-13-2004, 08:08 AM
Sorry midohionautiques, I kinda got confused about who was bringing what and what we could do in them. First I heard boats would be able to be demoed, then they would sit on trailers, and I didn't know if we could demo other CC owners' boats to begin with in the first place... and so on... I've never been to Ceder Point nor a CC reunion so I didin't even know if there was a lake or anything...

SprintCar39

Abun.... You should really try to attend this event. It is awesome to see so many Nautiques in one place and the company is second to none. There are many great prizes that are given away at the event. Also Cedar Point is one of the best amusement parks in the nation. The Ohio reunion has been the largest reunion Correct Craft has but the Orlando event is getting bigger all the time. Lets keep the Mid West reunion the largest !! If you get your new boat in time bring it along for all to see. It will be nice to see everyone from here at PlanetNautique.com.

I really want to come but it has to be at least 10 hours form NYC. Any idea how far the winner of last year's event traveled?

SprintCar39
04-21-2004, 11:05 AM
redelf75 We did not have one last year but I think the previous year the winner came from North Carolina. You just might be the winner this year. We hope that find a way to make it this year.

Several members have asked me how many people from this site are planning to attend. I don't have that information, so let's try to get a list together of who is going to Cedar Point. If you're going, post here and let us know!

SprintCar39
06-07-2004, 12:15 PM
They used to get close to 2,000 people and about 150 boats from what I have been told. It has been one of the biggest reunions that Correct Craft has. As of now there are about 400 people that have pre-entered. We sure hope that many more show up so that we can continue this into the future. If you have never been to one you should come and check it out. COME OUT AND HAVE A GOOD TIME WITH FELLOW NAUTIQUE OWNERS.

I have finally made my decision to attend and I'm filling out my form and I'm debating about bringing my boat.

I'm a new nautique owner this year and I'm looking forward to seeing what others have done to their boats. I have not had the chance to do anything to my 2002 SAN.

Any thoughts?

Thanks to Jeff and Luke from PlanetNautique for making the trip to the Correct Craft reunion. It was also nice to meet the others from this site that attended. I will get the totals of attendance in the next couple of days an get them posted. It was a good event and we are already making plans to return to Cedar Point on 2005 so mark it on your calender. Looks like we might move it to July for 2005. We are also trying to come up with some more ideas to make it a bigger EVENT too.

The reunion was a good time. Nice to meet Luke & Jeff and some other members. Greg Meloon's 226 was a sweet boat. The wake was unbelievable. Cedar Point turned out to be a great venue. Already looking forward to next year!

Just wanted to say that we had a great time at Cedar Point as well. Hopefully the event will continue to grow even bigger next year! The best part was that it didn't rain! There were some awesome boats there on display as well. The 226 that Greg Meloon has is awesome and the sub that he has in there is even better.

Here's the group picture from Cedar Point. Thanks to Mid-Ohio Nautiques (http://www.midohionautiques.com/index2.htm) for sending it over. I think it turned out really well. I wish it could have shown all of the boats, but there wasn't really a way to get them all in the shot. There is another row of boats that cannot be seen in this picture. It sure looks good with those roller coasters in the background!

06-25-2004, 11:20 AM
So what was the final count on how many attended?

SprintCar39
06-25-2004, 11:40 AM
The reunion had about 800 people attend and over 60 boats. Not bad but would have liked to see even more peopel and boats. I think taking a year off hurt us a little in attendence. We are working on the dates for next year now and trying to have more events. We are thinking of having a wakeboard clinic or wakeboard tournament as well as some additional ideas. We are also looking at moving it to the 4th of July weekend. What are everyones thought about that date? We are going to be working on this now and be better prepared for 2005. Oh yeah...did I forget to say that they are going to go back to doing this every year again.

NautiqueJeff
06-25-2004, 12:30 PM
My personal feeling is that the fourth of July weekend might not be the best time to hold this event. While people will probably have more time off of work then, the park will probably be packed, the roads will be busy, and the reunion would be competing with other things going on at that time. We might lose some participants that would otherwise attend. I'll probably be there regardless of when it is though.

SprintCar39
06-25-2004, 12:53 PM
Cedar Point has suggested that day because it is one of the slowest days they have. All holidays are slow at Cedar Point....it is one of our little secrets. I agree about the date....looking for opinions so that I can pass it along to corporate.

99ProAir
06-25-2004, 12:55 PM
I think most people look at that long weekend as a "boating" weekend. I personally would not be able to attend if it were held at that time. I do like the idea of wakboard clinics or tournaments. That would be great. I think you would get a good turnout due to your central location. Hats off to Correct Craft for recognizing that the reunion should be held annually.

AbunDiga909
06-25-2004, 12:56 PM
I think it has it's ups and downs. I know a lotta people have tradittions and normal plans that they always do on that weekend... I think a lotta people wouldn't be able to make it just because of family events. Will there be fireworks at Ceder Point?

Also, I dunno how many kids were there, but thats right in the middle of camp during the summer, so I dunno but that also may play an effect in population.

Luke
06-25-2004, 05:03 PM
I don't think I'd be a big fan of the 4th. Too many other events seem to take up my schedule during that holiday.
