your motor won't last 15 minutes without water, but your impeller will be okay. :lol:

Yep. Kind of overkill. Although a buddy of mine warmed up his motor without water flowing in for over 15 minutes. When he took off, it smoked like Cheech Martin (or something like that.) The impeller and rubber exhaust parts were smoked. The motor never got over 210 degrees. (This friend of mine forgot that he cut the hose to the inlet in the bottom of the boat to drain it. No water--no fun--no brain.)
