I am a new owner of a 86 2001 Nautique :D I would like some info on wake towers. I have done some reaserch and I like the look of the air boom. Has anyone used or had experience with this product? Any other suggestions on towers for this model would be appreciated.
Thanks RS

I have a 87 2001 that I put a monster tower on. i highly recommend it. It's silent, and very stiff. I am also putting a stereo in it. I will post pics of it in a few days. We are rebuilding the side panels to house one in the front and one in the back of each side (I work at a marine upholstery shop).

My brother and I have an '88 SN 2001. A good place for the receiver is the glove box and we used to have an amp on that mound in front of the driver's feet (in front of the wall). As long as your vents on the bow and those tubes are sealed off so water can't get up there it should work fine. I also made "kick panels" in the back against the wall that stab themselves into the floor and bolt to the top lip underneath the teak wood. I will be remaking these out of higher quality materials this winter and if anybody is interested I could easily make more. I'll get some pictures next time I'm up at the lake.

hollywood, why didn't you put the stereo in the stock place? what did you do with the hole in the dash from the origional tape deck?

There was no hole in the dash so the apparently my boat didn't have the radio option. I like the glove box location because it keeps it protected. You can easily fabricate a plate to put over the original hole from your radio if you wish to change locations.
