Lake Cumberland September 8-10 (Poker Run Weekend)

I just reserved a cabin at Jamestown Marina for Friday and Saturday night of Poker Run Weekend. I usually only make it to Cumberland once or twice a season, but I always try to make it down for the Poker Run. The big money poker run boats always put on a great show and 76 Falls gets pretty lively with all the extra people at the lake that weekend. Even with all the extra boats and people I'm usually able to find good water back in the creeks for skiing/wakeboarding. If any Planet Nautique members are going to be at the lake that weekend, we should plan on hooking up at 76 Falls Saturday afternoon.

gotpwr, do you know the route the poker rigs take along the lake? Sounds like it'd be cool to check out, but I wouldn't want to have to cruise the whole lake just to catch a glimpse of the heavy metal.

The State Dock hosts the Poker Run, so that is where the start, lunch and end is. The route varies from year to year, but Grider Hill and Conley Bottom always seem to be stops, so if you are anywhere on the main channel between Grider Hill and Conley Bottom you should see some boats. Heading down to Grider Hill for my 3rd cumberland trip of the season.

I have never been on the water during the poker run (I usually stay away during the CRAZY weekends) but the poker run sounds like a fun time.

Who else is up for a raft up during poker run?

I might be down there that weekend. Not sure whether we'd be launching from Grider or State Dock.

76 falls is another spot that most of the boats cruise by as an unofficial spot.

My buddies and I rent a houseboat and park at 76 the whole weekend. They normally take their boats though, 3 Malibus tied up next to our grider hill rental houseboat. Needless to say we don't ski much on Saturday!
