I am looking at purchasing a used 1999 Sport Nautique. If purchased, the dealer will be adding a tower system. Being a novice at this, I am curious as to what concerns I should be having.

What tower is the appropriate for this type of boat?

What reinforcement is required when adding the tower?

Should the dealer prewire the tower for future sound/light systems?

Is this a good thing to do to a 1999 SN? :?:

No problems putting a tower on a 99 sport. I wouldn't worry about prewiring a tower until you are ready to add the accessories to it. You can put almost any tower on this boat. The FCT is the sturdiest that I have seen and many people are liking the monster tower especially for the price. Just make sure that the dealer does a good job and countersinks the holes and puts in the appropriate reinforcement plates on the underside. The deck of the boat was built strong enough that year to accomodate the towers. Show us some pictures when you get a chance!

Thanks...I am still deliberating my options. I will look at the boat today or tomorrow.

Yes keep it Nautique and get a FTC. Wiring is a snap. Just add a hole where the back down tube of the tower meets the fiberglass.

Here's a '99 Sport Nautique with a 2001 model year Flight Control Tower installed. I think it looks pretty good. This one is for sale at North Point Watersports for $32,900.
