Locked Threads And New Members

In addition to locking threads that have gotten out of control, can we start banning the offending members? There seems to be an influx of new members that appear to be here simply to stir the pot. Just a thought.

I hear what you're saying Gotpower, but I don't know. There are
a lot of sites out there where slamming each other is the norm. Perhaps
when new folks join this site, they might need a little time to
settle in to the social climate here. I don't know that banning
folks for a little first time misbehavior is the right thing to do.
But, hey, I'll go along with the majority.

We'll do whatever we feel necessary to keep this site at a civil and mature level.

Hopefully that won't result in banning people, but we'll cross that bridge when/if we come to it. For the time being just give the new members the benefit of the doubt and assume they aren't use to a site where members build each other up instead of tearing them down. They'll come around.

I think our site is pretty tame for the most part...aside from an occasional spat, I've rarely seen over the top behavior that is worth banning someone over.
