Does anyone know if CC offers factory tours on weekends, or only on weekdays?

The tour starts at 10:00 AM. It is very interesting to see the boats built. The factory tour on the website helps but it is no replacement for going there. I am not sure if it is true but I heard a rumor that they were going to quit offering the tours because they need all the space they can get there. Frost, I would have emailed you but it was a spur of the moment thing when I went but I am sure that it is not the only time that I will be there. If anyone has the opportunity to go, do it!! It is very very cool.

I went many, many years ago when I was at Disney World. I was 9-ish and I took a day out of Disney World to go to the CC Factory Tour, when I didn't even really know the process...how devoded was I! lol...Anyway...I remember walking through with a Maloon guy, and we saw all of the steps. We saw them put that really strong white stuff on that looks like paper machey, and what we found interesting was that (this was 2000 I think b/c this was when the frst started with teh"N" logo) the pin stripe taping on the "N" logo was done by hand each time and you could see very noticible difference between each boat, I found that as a good thing. And there were two parts that were the coolest. The first one is when we saw the boats being flipped. It scared the sh*( out of me! they flipped a boat with a tower and not only did i think it was gonna hit the ground, but i thought the thing was gonna fall!!! and the other cool part was when we took a break and got a soda in this really cool (as in temp.) room in the middle of all the commotion. Not only was i thirsty, but lemme tell ya, that glue and paint they use on the gell coat sure is strong! **** it'll put u to sleep. lol. But if i had the chance, i would go again in a heartbeat. We may go down, as in me and my dad, to test drive a 211.

Sounds like a good time. Kind of figured it was only on weekdays, but wanted to make sure. I'm going to be down there mid February and thought I'd check it out.

Space is very tight, you dont have much room to move the boats around anymore... I would say thats a good thing :)

Frost,
Is the rumor true that they are going to cut off tours in the future? You guys really need to get into the new factory!! That will be awesome but I am sure it will be a huge project to move everything.

luke, when are you going down? reid on ccfan ( who owns SEVEN vintage nautiques) is going in febuary also. it would be cool to get a planet nautique ccfan clan and schedule a group tour if that is possible. i can beg walt to let us in.

i've hooked up with factory reps at the winter boat shows and have toured the local supra/moonba, mastercrap and aztec facilities. very interesting process.

it would be nice to pull the kids out of school and make an orlando run.

I'll be down there Feb. 11-13th. I'm going to be going to Murray & Moye's Boarding school though, and doubt I'll have much time to do anything else.

I think I'll get into Orlando around 5ish on the 11th. What day were you guys planning on?

Frost

SN as far as I know, no they will not stop giving tours. They come thru the plant about twice a week or so...

You better let me know if you come here for a tour :)

I spoke with Jeff at the CC plant yesterday and he says that they are not offering tours until Apr 04. I am going to be a few miles from the plant on 5 Mar and wanted to take the tour.

Did Jeff say why? Maybe they are working on a new top secret SANTE!

I didn't ask. But if anybody can get me in I would appreciate it.

I'd talk to your dealer. Are you interested in buying a boat? If so, you may have some leverage.

mrese, Do you know why they will not be offering it during March? I will be there in two weeks in Palm Beach...

I didn't ask (I don't know why I didn't ask, bad head-space and timing at the moment). I already have a 89 so I didn't bother with the dealer route.

abundiga, palm beach is about 3 miles of south. Sure you wanted to take time out of your trip anyways? You could spend those extra 6+ hours on the beach seeing beautiful women instead of sniffing resins!!

I'm gonna be there for almost a week and go every year... I think i've seen enough of Palm Beach. One day Scuba Diving, Beach-ing, etc... I think a trip to CC wouldnt' be out of the way, especially due to the new boat arriving in around end of April early May! If this was a one-time vacation place, yeah CC would be out. It also depends on the car you rent!

Yeah, the one about the drippless packing gland and about saving money? I understand and agree, but its in, and done, and when your buying a new CC, frankly those options don't make a make it or break it kind of difference.

What about it?

I just wasn't sure if you saw it. No big deal.

CC is always working to push the envelope and develop the highest quality and most technologically advanced ski and wakeboard boats. Just because they are not offering tours doesn't mean they are working on some secret project, because they are ALWAYS working on some secret project.

One of the coolest parts of the tour, if'n your lucky enough to see it, is watching them break a boat outta of the mold! Waaayyyy cool! I gave the tour a big thumbs up!

I met Jeff at the Houston Boat show. I had a lengthy talk with him about the 211, and other various features boats might have at some point in time. He was a really nice guy.

Whats with the rolleyes?

ag4ever, "I wish..." type of thing... or "I hope so..."

I know hes a nice guy, sorry if that was misleading...

My dealer said they are retooling is why they are not offering the tour.

This is all hear-say, so take it for what it is worth.

Jeff Warner says the factory is closed for the month of March. Forgot why. Retooling sounds good. :?

Ladies and Gentlemen, Correct Craft is no longer offering tours for the moment because the dedicated "tour guide" is either no longer with the company or giving tours. Jeff Warner was picking up the slack and giving the tours for awhile, but now he has been promoted and has more pressing matters to focus on. Please be patient with CC, they are moving forward in the construction of their new facility.

That's cool. I haven't heard anything about the new facility for a long time. Do they have an estimated time of completion?

FixerOstuff
03-07-2004, 07:38 PM
CC will not speculate a completion date. You never know the hurdles that they might encounter with building a factory. So save your breath fellas, they aren't sure themselves, BUT the process is moving forward.

That's really a bummer about not being able to tour the factory right now. After all the trouble I've had with Nautique dealers, my wife is leaning hard on me to go with a Malibu (she thinks their affiliation with our local ski club will result in higher-quality dealer service). I was hoping they'd be running tours while we're down here at Disneyworld that would help re-instill some confidence in her, but I just called over there and confirmed that not to be the case. I thought I'd at least have the kids on my side if they got a chance to see the factory, but it looks like that ain't happening :(

I just got back from a trip from all over Florida and Orlando was one of the stops. Unfortunately, we were not able to get a tour. We got a call from Jeff himself saying that the reason they will not be offering tours is because the board said so. Bummer... :(
