I posted this in inboardtalk.com but then I noticed there is very little activity on that board, so...

After reading about adding that second ground to remedy quirky gauge problems, I'm wondering how to get behind the gauges on the 90 SN. They don't pop out the front too easily, and only the speedos are accessable from behind. Does the whole dash assembly come off to access these wires? Any help here is appreciated. This is one part of the boat I haven't taken apart yet. And I am not referring to the breaker panel- I've already been in that birds nest of wires.

On my '94, there were four silver screws with finger grips (two on top of the dash, two below). Loosen those up, and the entire assembly lifts off. You should be able to get to them all that way.

Jeff is right and then there should be brackets on the backside of each guage that hold them on. There are two nuts on each side that are tightened up. Very simple to get at them.
