Looking for input from those of you that have the following:

Colored Hull: Good or bad idea? Would you order another boat with a colored hull?

Keyless Ignition: Good or Bad? More specifically, are they problematic? Reliability is paramount.

I like the looks of colored hulls but I don't think I would own one because of the extra wear and tear that they show. If you trailer often or have a shallow hoist, the scuffs are going to show up easier and also the waterspots will show up easier.
The keyless ignition is great in my opinion. It is such a simplistic system and you don't have to worry about losing keys or bringing them down to the boat each time. You can have a couple of different codes in there and you can also take them in and out at anytime so let's say you wanted to let someone use your boat one day, you could enter a code in there for them to use (so they don't have to know your code) and then you can wipe it out of there after they are done. As far as problems, I have only seen one or two cases and they were mainly on the early editions of them (2000). You should be all set on the newer boats.

I would definitely get a colored hull, probably grey/silver. It will look good and not show dirt and waterspots as easy. I however would prefer a keyed ignition.

The only 03 SAN still around have colored hulls. Seems these people cannot unload the boats no matter how hard they try.

Irronically, Malibu (sorry for the comparison) does not warranty its own "fine line gel coated" hulls.

That speaks volumes to me on the "color or not to color" debate.

I have a colored hull and have been extremely happy with it thus far. I think it really sets the boat off. I trailer everywhere and have not noticed any more wear and tear than on my friends white hull boats. Granted, I've had my boat a relatively short amount of time. I've been happy with my decision thus far and wouldn't hesitate to get another colored hull boat.

Water spots do show up more on my hull than on white hull boats. I always wipe my boat down after taking it out of the water. It has stayed looking nice for year one. We'll see how it holds up as time progresses.

Keyless ignition - I love it. It's a pretty unique feature that I haven't had any problems with. It's nice not to have to worry about another set of keys. Frankly I've had more problems on other boats (not CC) with keyed ignitions not working properly.

I know of a red/white team edition 210 with a silvercloud (white) hull. I believe it has a heater too.

I would probably say that its not because of the colored hulls, everybody I know who is selling a boat these days are having a difficult time, due to winter I guess, and most people who have purchased a boat new, bought a colored hull as they like the originality of it. Everyone I have talked to who owns a colored hull, be it Mastercraft, Nautique, or Malibu, have told me they would purchase one again. My friend owns a 03 Malibu with a yellow colored hull, and he loves it. The only color he says he will stay away from is black, as he owned one previously.

I know of a dealer who has a '03 210 Limited for sale in Illinois, brand new. Red with a white hull, pretty boat. If you want his info, send me an email.

I just purchased a 03' SAN limited that is white w/ black strip. I had a choice between this and a SANTE in orange (just like the 03' brochure). I felt like the orange would be too much to look at after a few years. More importantly I do not trade boats often and no matter what claims the manufacture makes I'm affraid that a colored hull will fade over time from the sun. The dealer was good enough to load the limited down with all the options of the team so it made it an easy choice for me.
