NVS 1010 on existing factory amp?

I am thinking of getting the NVS 1010 speakers for my 2005 SANTE with factory installed Polk Defcon I tower speakers. The Polk speakers simply cannot be heard behind the boat. Will I need a new amp too or can I use the factory amps that came with the Defcon I setup?

I don't think it makes sense to spend $1800 on a pair of very high quality speakers then under power them and jeapordize performance using an underpowered amplifier. The PPI 4125s are proven performers with the NVS systmes and sell for about $400 on e-bay, I would say that's money well spent.
