I just bought my first ski boat! It's a 2001 Sport. I've been skiing for a long time but this is my first step up to ownership. :D

Anyway, through out the process I've been feverishly surfing various chat boards. This one in particular was helpful as I narrowed my choice down to a Nautique. Keep up the great information sharing! Edwin and the rest of you "hobby" writers out there should post some more articles.

Also, I wanted to give some kudos to Mid-Ohio Nautiques. Eric and his family were extremely nice and helpful through out the entire process. Based on some of the posts I've read, it appears dealers can be iffy. Eric has been anything but, helping me every step of the way. If you're in the Midwest, I'd definitely recommend checking his shop out, on-line or in person. And no, this wasn't a "paid for" advertisement. I just wanted to give some positive feedback.

Any advice on things I should stay conscious of, in terms of boat maintenance, my first season would be welcome.

Hack,
Congratulations on your first Nautique!! You will love it. As far as using it, most of it is common sense. One big thing is to watch your temp guage. Make sure it doesn't go over 160 degrees. A lot of people don't realize this and they overheat there engines. Other than, give it some TLC and it will stay looking new!!! Post some pics when you get a chance. I know some of the members here are currently working on writing and posting more articles for the site. If you have questions in the mean time, ask and you will get some good answers here.

Nice boat! Mid-Ohio (www.midohionautiques.com) is a great dealership. We bought our current boat from Eric too. He and James really know their stuff.

It is unfortunate to say and dissapointing to say to stay clear of NECC. We are in the market for a new boat and although he is not our local dealer, we have been leaning towards buying from him for years and years. He then had a demo and we got first dibs and we turned it down. This guy has had this demo boat soled and cancled sales twice! i feel really bad and it wasnt' the boat for us and he just pushed us to far and put too much pressure on our family, so we are now buying a boat from Candlewood East, who is pretty good, at least Mitch Jr. (stay away from Mitch Sr.!)... I have to say that i am dissapointed to say that Craig from NECC was not very helpful...if you're out there Craig, good luck selling that black Promo!

Mid-west seems nice. I've been loocking at practially all Nautique dealers around the country and even some from France and Sweeden online! to see some color combos. Thats the hardest part about getting a Nautique, choosing the colors!

Abundiga,
If you need help choosing colors or finding a good dealer, etc. let me know. I have connections with a few different dealers and can get things worked out for you. Let me know.

Thanks Skinautique a lot. but we think we've found a dealer. we've already made the hardest decision of chosing between the 210 and the 216 which i'm sure this whole site knows about since i've posted mny thinga about it. we found this '03 216 at Rockford Marina in IL that looks great! however, we are not sure if we should get an '04. if we got an 04, it would be from candlewood east marina in CT. right now candlewood is selling one for about 50.5k! however, Rockford is about 4600 bucks cheaper...i dunno which to go with! if we got a new boat it would be at the new york boat show so there might be a discount thing there,,but that isn't looking so good right now...i dunno which boat we should get! what do you think?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with NECC. Funny because I was just surfing their site the other day. I'm a bit boat crazed right now. :P

If you're serious about buying a new boat (or demo) I'd definitely talk to Eric at Mid-Ohio. They ship all over the country. Their service and prices are hard to beat.

Per my other post, conspicuously unpopular as it is, they are now helping me with a lift too. They have proven to be much more helpful on this lift purchase than the other marina where my boat will be used. That's why I wanted to see if there was any justification for the differences in price I was seeing.

Enjoy the new boat! Too bad..that black one at NECC looked cool.

hack... it did look very cool! one of the few with a colored deck and matchign platform! however, we wanted the 6 Liter engine which the one in IL has. We would consider from any dealer except when it comes to service, we wouldn't ship our boat to midwest to get it serviced...we would go to our local dealer and he would greatly favor financially and time wise the people who buy from him...this is just one more thing to consider...
FOR ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN A GREAT DEAL ON A 03 LOADED 210 TEAM WITH ALL BLACK INCLUDING DECK AND BLACK COMPOSITE PLATFORM WITH A WHITE SECONDARY STRIPE WITH THE 330 HP ENGINE...I'M SURE NECC WOULD BE REAL HAPPY TO SELL THAT BOAT FOR THE THRID TIME! just don't tell him louis or austin sent you!

Rockford Marina in IL

Is that place called "B3 Sports" or something? This dealer is about 1.5 hrs. away from my house, if I weren't at school here in Indiana, I'd go check it out for you! I've never actually been to a real Nautique dealer.

Yeah, that boat did look cool. I actually called them and spoke with them
about it before buying my SAN. I'm glad I bought the one I did though.
Not only do I like my colors better, but I think I got a better deal too.

I checked out your album. Your boat is sweet. I noticed you were able to get the two axel trailer. I do like the black deck though. Out of curiosity, how much was/is NECC asking?

I don't remember their price offhand, since it was about a month and a half ago that I talked to them. I remember it being close to what I paid for mine, but mine has more options and a dual-axle trailer. The dual-axle trailer was actually one of my requirements when I got a new boat.

Ah...much better. Since the whole attachment thing isn't working, I don't know if you re-attached a resized pic. I will if not.

I know for a fact that NECC was asking $47,500 for it. Thats not including the upgrade to a two axle trailer...it is a good deal, but Candlewood East is offering basicallly a decked out 04 for about 50 grand and Rockford Marina is offering the decked out 03 (including 6.0 ZR engine, which is what Candlewood is including too in the price above..) for 46 grand....This is a hard decision...we have to keep in mind that we would get our service done at candlewood, so we wanna be on their good side...lol...i wish i could see both boats. The color selector on the web just doesn't do it.... :( and yes..i dunno who asked..i think Rockford was called B3 Sports,,,so i think its the same place...Thanks again...

p.s...Ski Nautique...do you ave any pics of random colors??? :?: you said before to tell u if we needed help with em..well..we do! we think we found a nice color combo...but if you have pics...can you post them or something??? Thanks again...

AbunD.... Call the dealer and request a picture of each boat. They probably already have some and if not should not have any problem with getting some for you to look at. Good Luck
Here is another color combination.... :D

I just looked at www.rockfordmarine.com. You were right, it was the merging of one marine and B3 sports. Also, I should have a pic of every possible color combo on the net. Let me know what you need. I've got over 1,000 pics of CCs already!

Abundiga,
Here is a color combo for you. What colors is your family leaning towards?

i think i'm having a little trouble with viewing the pics...by the way...that gray and white one from mid ohio is real real real nice! I was thinking of a color combo just like that cuz it would match our 82 Ski Nautique... however, we seem to be leaning toward either the 03 from rockford which is black hull, white secondary stripe, black primary...and white tower.. its nice...but doesn't have the shine to it like a boat with a color would. if we got an 04,,,it would be similar proably. prob. black hull and primary...and whatever secondaary stripe we get...we would get a matchign tower...i actually like teh white secondary with the brushed aluminum tower...i think if you keep it clean...which i willl....the boat will look real sharp....

could you send me that pic to eaglex9@attglobal.net please because i'm having trouble viewing pics online... if a nice color combo pops up...we may take it into consideration....

candlwood east had a totally orange boat with a white deck and gray secondary and i thought that was really nice...i always thought teh black and yellow looks nice...and so may the green i think if theres not too much on the boat....

Thanks for the pics everybody....
