Ok, so here it is, I just picked it up the other day for $2700 with the trailer. Most of the crappy looks is just stuff that can be cleaned up with some good TLC. I have already done a bunch to the boat and I will post more pictures as the project progress. I plan on restoring the boat with my own ideas also. The motor is strong. I did a compression test on it and got over 125psi on all eight cylinders. The tranny did not work, which is part of the reason the price was so cheap, but I pulled it apart today and found the problem, a bad tranny pump. only $179 on the net. The rest of the tranny looks good. The hull is in great shape and so is the rest of the boat. I cannot wait to get it into the water. Here are some pics... More to follow.

Sounds like you've got quite a project ahead. That's cool about the trans pump. If you have trouble getting that hull clean, there's a product called Y-10 cleaner that is supposed to be really good. You might try a search for that on the Internet. Keep us posted on how things are going.
BTW, I fixed the pictures in your post. Luke and I are actively persuing a solution to that issue (as well as others) right now.

I had pretty good luck with this product from 3M cleaning up the old family runabout this fall.

Looks like a cool project. Also, looks like the previous owners had the graphics redone.

Yes, that surely isn't original. Also, the side windshield should be 2 pieces, like this 83.

I haven't ever posted in this forum before, but I'll be glad to start off by giving you the all-time best formula I've found for cleaning the algae stains on the gel: make a 50%/50% mixture of Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner (the thick blue stuff) and hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle. Wet the hull with a hose, spray the mixture on, agitate with a scrub brush, rinse well. This stuff works better than anything I have ever used including that nasty acid stuff. It won't fix the oxydation, but it will clean a lot of the bottom. Learned about this on MBO (I am a Malibu owner). You'll be amazed. Only mix what you're going to use right away - it's effectiveness decreases in 24 hours. Good Luck!
