This is supposed to be January, but around here it feels more like May or June! It was 74* today, and it was 72* yesterday! This is crazy. With weather like this, the season might just start early around here. Normally we're seeing highs in the 30's and 40's.

So there is a good in global warming...
Those are late spring riding temps around here. You need to get your boat back together so you can get back out on the water.
We're supposed to get 8-15 inches in the next 36 hours...3 more months till the water thaws...

No kidding!! I know as soon as I put it back together it'll start snowing here. Our grand total as far as snowfall goes so far this winter is 1". I was hoping to actually get a little snow skiing in this year...

Ouch! I gotta give you respect for living in conditions like that. I'm a native San Diegan (riding year round) who's never experienced a "-" in front of a temperature before.
As for Southern CA we've been getting much more rain and wind than in years past along with some relatively cold temps (of which I will not post to avoid backlash).

It's only cold out if there's snow, which is just as good as being on the lake...
It's been pretty warm here in NYC. Today is the first time we are expected to get some real snow, not just flurries.

i would love to ski all year round - some of you have it good.... we ski in conditions where most people have winterized their boats already - but we love it! (well I do - sometimes it can be quite difficult to find someone to just go and drive for me :( let alone spot)
but is was -40 this morning with a -51 wind chill - schools were closed and the exhaust from vehicles was freezing on my way in to work today.
ski season seems far away right now..... but...... where did i put my skidim catalog???

We skied up to December 12th, as it was starting to get a little uncomfortable, light snow followed by driving rain we decided to take a break.
The wind is not so bitter now and it doesn't snow that often in January so our next outing is planned 22nd/23rd January, until then there is always the London Boat Show that has just started.

basc - you guys are lucky..... I'd be skiing at those temps.
once it gets below 10C we won't go unless it's sunny and calm.
skiied at 5C this year (that was the lowest) because my ski buddy picked up a used boat at end of season and we just HAD to. (no idea on the water temp - i was drysuit but my buddy was just fleece top and shorts - he shivered!)

Well... I had a pretty lame winter....
Only had 1 real snow fall. Gone skiing only once so far. I will be going to Utah for Spring Break, but by then I'm already in the water and doesn't count as Winter. Now that its in the 50s everyday I'm just waiting for the foot of ice to melt on the lake and then my boat will be first in line to get summerized!
