A friend mentioned there would be no way I could get my Correct Craft Dominique (2600 lbs) up the boat ramp with my 1999 Nissan Quest minivan (3.0 V6 Front Wheel drive). Will this be a problem?

That is quite a load for that van, but I would think you would be able to get it up the ramp. Front wheel drive will make for a challenge. When properly equipped (and I stress PROPERLY EQUIPPED), the Quest is rated to tow 3500 pounds. As I'm sure you know, that 3500 pounds includes the weight of the trailer and all gear on the boat. My guess is that with the weight of the trailer, you'll be pushing the limits of that vehicle. A general rule of thumb when towing is to leave a 1/3 margin of safety where weight is concerned.

Towing capacity information found HERE (http://www.panpacificrv.com/towspec1999.html).

I realized I was pushing things. I have the use of my sister's SUV to get the boat from NY to Maine. I also will have a slip to keep the boat in all summer. The only thing I will need the minivan to do is to drive 1/2 mile to the boat launch put the boat in and then in the fall take the boat out and drive another 1/2 mile to the garage where the boat will sleep for the winter. So the only thing I am worried about is getting up the ramp in the fall.
