01' SAN Tower Stripped

Our tower on our correct craft just stripped. :cry: The threads on the top folding piece are just smooth. All we ever done was put the tower up and down for the garage. It's not supposed to strip so is this under warranty? Has this happened to anyone else out there?

not an unheard of problem. The tower bolts are spring loaded and still grip the threads a bit after loosening them when the tower is folded. Eventually the treads strip. A helicoil is an easy fix.

Holding the screws down as you lift the tower is the best way to prevent it from happening.
