Private Message function not working on new site?

Is the private messaging system not working? I have tried sending a few PM's, but they do not show up in my sent items folder.

Go to your "Forum" settings and check "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default"
If this is not checked the message is not saved, but it should be sent

Jaybird has the correct answer. That should allow you to see any messages you send from that point on.
