I've done one made out of MDF with Resin/Fiberglass to seal it. Two 10" subs firing downward. Do a search you'll see a couple people have done this and other variations.

I'm building one primarily out of fiberglass and will either replace the middle seat on the Port side, or will become a step in seat behind the Drivers side. Search through the forum, and you'll find the post that shows the options.

Wakejunky's is the best I've seen so far. I copied his design, but so far I only have the seat done. I plan to add the subs over the winter. The extra seat is GREAT though. This is what Wakejunky did. Mine looks almost identical.

That's what I used - Marine Grade Plywood

It has held up well so far, and we stand on the frame (with cushion removed) all the time. I used Lowe's marine carpet, which matches Nautique carpet almost perfectly.
