Amazingly enough, I have never been on a boat with Tower lights. On my lake we have ski hours and they end at 6 pm. I know, that sucks.

Anyway, do they really help? Can you really use them to ski in the dark or only at dusk?

Any decent pictures showing how they function would be awesome!

We have the fusion light bar and they face forward, so I don't think they would be able to help you ski, just drive. However, they are extremely bright like all lights so if they were to face backwards, they would just be blinding for the skier. We used them when we were in Maine from coming back from the Marina at like 10 and going for night rides at midnight. they are really great when docking, maked me wonder how we did it all these year without them.

If you do a lot of night driving, they are very useful, esp. where there are a lot of bouys. However, they won't really help you for skiing I think. If its dark enough to use them, its too dark to ski w/o being blinded.

But they still look cool during the day!

We were out yesterday, and the wind was blowing all day long. Finally, in the evening, the wind calmed down and we were able to get a few sets in. It started to get dark, and we started getting ready to head in. At the last minute, I decided that the conditions were too perfect to pass up, and I wanted to take a slalom run. We used the tower lights, since it was pretty dark. They worked pretty well, but like Austin said, they do blind the skier/boarder if he is directly behind the boat. The people in the boat liked being able to see me though.

We also use them for docking at night, which we do quite often now that the sun is setting earlier.

They work great for surfing at night, and docking, etc. Mine definitely don't work well enough to board with at night.
