Flush pro

Does anyone have the flush pro on there boat? Winter is aproaching and I will be winterizing in a couple of months. My fake a lake doesnt fit the water intake opening. The flush pro is supposed to make winterizing and running your boat out of the water easier. I just wanted some feedback on it, if its worth the $$.

I have had two flush pros and both of them have failed at the hose barb. It could have been much worse than it was, but in reality it turned out to be another place for a water leak (possibly a huge leak). I saw something a friend had the other day on a MC that I am going to try. Get the size of the hose going to the impellar and get a soft pliable hose of the same size 1- 2 feet long. Then get two hose clamps and fittings on one side for a valve and a hose hookup, unclamp the boat hose and clamp on the new hose and turn on the water, then turn on the valve and fire up the engine.

I plan on making one of these and I will take some pics if these instructions are not clear.

I've had one for about 8 years and it's never been a problem. Perhaps I'm just lucky. However, if they were problematical, I bet that skidim wouldn't sell them anymore.

I just made up a 1" to 3/8" ???? (is a garden hose 3/8?) reducer out of simple plumbing parts... cut the end off a $2 garden hose and voila... all for about $7 (Canadian no less)

I just disconnect the hose at the water strainer (1990 SN water strainer is in front of the trans oil cooler) and hook up the garden hose... super simple and super cheap - and it will NEVER be a place for a water or air leak.

I can see about a picture.... but couldn't be simpler

put one on my 96 sport early this spring and works great. check all your hose clamps regularly. you could get a leak at a hose clamp with or without the flushpro if you dont tighten all your clamps. no problems so far. by far better than a fake a lake and perfect for doing your on winterizing, its a breeze.
