Beautiful pics man. I have an 09 230 and I go to Canyon Lake all the time as we live in Wimberley. Mine is solid white with the FCT3 on it and the same graphic as yours. We usually go out on Tuesday or Wednesday after work. Would love to see you'll out there sometime.

Nice.

Did you get any good water over the weekend? I've never been to Canyon lake, but I only live 50 miles away. I heard that it can get rough on weekends.

We go one or two times a year. Skipped the May trip due to wind/weather, etc. We are planning a trip once the wind dies for the summer. We need rain something bad. I read on the site the lake is 14.5 ft down and many of the ramps are closed.

Maybe I'll go the week after the first tropical storm...although the water won't be as clear. I've got some nice pics I can post.

The lake is very low and the Corp of Engineers just sold a whole bunch of the water to some company down stream, is what I heard. So, from what I understand, the lake will be dropping quickly in the coming weeks and that will close down all of the ramps very soon. I hope we get some good rain soon. The lake already dropped about a foot from last week to yesterday when I was out there.

I think the big front on Monday raised the level a foot.

we had some smooth water each evening. during the day it was pretty rough with lots of rollers, but i prefer to wakeboard in the evenings and always have in my brother-in-law's boat so we just chilled during the day and wakeboarded when the traffic and wind laid down in the evening.

i think the lake was down around 13.5 feet. there are a lot of ramps that are closed, but the ramp traffic wasn't too bad considering it was a holiday weekend. they are actually re-doing a ramp or two while the water is low so they will be ready to go once the lake rises a little. if we don't get some rain up there soon, it is going to get even lower though as the river feeding into the lake is almost standing still.

there were a few storms around on Monday morning when we went out, but i didn't actually see any rain hit the ground.

Here is a pic from Turkey Cove of sunrise over the dam in August.

This messy pic is about the best one I have that shows how clear the water is. This pic was actually after a flood which makes the water a little dirty. I've seen the deep end as clear as the gulf but green instead of blue.

Anyone know the lake status? I just picked up a 00 Air this past weekend, and my cousins invited me down to their lakhouse on Canyon for this coming weekend. I have a flaky hummingbird depth finder, so hate to hit the lake in dangerous conditions without a relaible depthfinder....I have hit Lake Austin several times already and love the boat.

cdr: i was at Canyon Lake this past weekend. the lake is about 13-15 feet low, but we didn't have a problem with depth anywhere. not having a depth finder isn't really that big of a deal at Canyon because of how deep it is. it wouldn't say the conditions were dangerous at all. there is 1 spot in the middle of the lake that gets really shallow now because of the lake levels, but it is near the dam and has a marker bouy now. the rest of the lake is 70-100 ft deep in the middle. and the coves stay pretty deep, even now. the water was super clear so you can definitely see if you are coming near shallow water in the coves and the middle isn't really an issue except that one point.

I too was out on Canyon this past weekend. I had a little trouble putting in at Potter's creek. I had my Yukon XL rear tires in the water to get the boat to float. I suggest going to the Marina to launch. Once underway, the water was amazing. In my opinion the best water clarity in Texas. The only drawback is the minerals that wreck havoc on the tower and spinner racks. Enjoy Canyon Lake!

ps I saw an all black 230 out there... SWEEEEEETTT Ride whover that was!

I think one of the best places to put in is Ramp #1 near the Chamber of Commerce. that ramp is fine.

Drought conditions always make the water clear at Canyon. No runoff while the other particles settle makes for some clear water.

On the minerals, check out this photo of my 206 after a week at Canyon in 100+ weather. The boat cleaned up nicely but not the glass. I finally had to warm some vinegar in the sun and go over the glass three or four times.

cdrymalla - that link I provided above should give you ramp closures.
