Very fun boat on the water and quite inexpensive to operate. It was my personnal introduction to boating (i now own a FANTASTIC 2002 S.A.N.T.E.). Learned to wakeboard on it and it did a great job at that. Can be towed with almost any vehicule. I was gonna buy a Sea Doo PWC but opted for the speedster in the end and I never regreted it for one second. I will have a jet boat again one day, they are a blast to drive! Now you can get it for less than a brand new PWC.

No factory ballast but I did use some on the floor once in a while.

My dad use to have a 97 SeaDoo Challenger (14.5 ft). I didn't consider it any harder to drive than my Sport Nautique. It was difficult at low speed, but so is a Direct Drive boat.

Can't speak from experience having not driven an older jet boat but I can assure you this one is the easiest thing to manoeuver, even at low... or NO speed. Sea doo has a new system that allows you to <rotate> the boat sort of on itself when in neutral. For example you can point the boat in the desired direction before gunning the throttle. It works pretty good. Actually at any speed the boat turns on a dime!


And yes, it is a great boat for wakeskate or for driving around the ramps and rails although it still has enough wake to teach wake to wake jumps and more.
